Childhood Memories

I wake up to the loud banging on my bedroom door.

"Benjamin Marion, someone is at the door asking for you. Now get up!" My mother screams through the door.

I throw myself up and out of bed because my arms ache continuously. I hobble my way downstairs and to the front door.

"Hey, I brought games and snacks like I said!" Millie exclaimed.

I totally forgot that Millie was coming over.

"Uh hi, come in" I say widening the door enough for her to get past.

She takes a couple steps into the house when she stops dead in her tracks. Her mouth agape as she takes in her surroundings.

"You live here? I love it. It's so pristine and perfect. How rich are you?" Millie mumbles.

"My parents are the owners of the sports car dealership. They get a fuck ton of money every year. Usually about 178,000 a year."

"Holy shit. That's nearly 4 times as much as most people make! My parents are rich but not this rich. This is like a dream. A- a fairytale as you could call it"

"Thanks, my parents don't pay much attention to me though. They're too busy working to spend time with their son. Yay" I roll my eyes.

"I'm sorry" she whispers.

"It's ok, I try everything to make them notice me but it never works. Anyway, let's go to my room"

She follows me to my bedroom which I quickly have to clean up the dirty laundry. She places her canvas bag gently onto my bed and unpacks it. She lay a deck of cards, Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly, Chess, Cluedo and Operation. As well as some chocolate biscuits and bags of crisps.

"Wow, that's a lot of things that I've never seen" I mutter.

"Sorry, is it too much?" Millie asks

"No it's ok. It's just my parents never really let me have fun as a kid"

"WHAT? So you've like never had a child hood?"

"I guess not"

"That's it. I'm making you play these games!"

"Alright. Your choice"

After multiple hours of hard work, sweat and tears (yes, tears), we sit on the floor with a banquet of Chinese, Indian, Greek and Thai food. I never got food like this as a kid so Millie made me try all of them to see which one I prefer.
By the end, I felt stuffed so we went to lie on my bed and watch TV. Millie's chosen to watch the Conjuring.
I hate horror movies by the way. But I didn't change it.
Near the end, the jump scares get even worse. My arse literally leaves the bed when I jump. My soul leaves my body. Yet I didn't feel a jump next to me. I turn my head to where Millie was but she is fast asleep. Her hair partially covers her face and her lips slightly parted.
I have no clue how she can sleep through a horror movie like the Conjuring. Especially when I keep jumping about. I leave her to sleep while I turn off the movie. I go onto my phone and message Radio Shack's Boss, Elijah, to tell him that I won't be into work for the next couple days until my bruising has gone down and my concussion has gone.
I throw my phone onto the pillow and then close my eyes.
Best day ever!
