just some vents

i'm losing my hearing

the doctors said i have rot in my left ear.

they said i'm prone to deafness as it's in my family, 

but only in one ear, the left one.

the other would be fine, or at least partially deaf

i'm already losing my hearing in my left ear

i know the doctors are right

i took the medication they prescribed 

and some wet, dead skin fell out of my ear

it keeps falling out

there never seems to be an end to it

that's the rot, right there

it's apparently mixed in with bacteria

but even without the rot

my inner ear, the cochlea is damaged

i can get an operation

but they won't guarantee my hearing will be restored if i go through

never once

in my 17 years of living

did i think

i would lose my hearing

so 

goddamn

young.
