The sky was already as dark as coal, the moon was crescent, and visibility was low, but a strange heat was completely present in that region, there was not a single cloud in the sky, and all the stars were visible, the sound of footsteps thousands of men passing through the desert scared any predator away, King Khalid's army had finally arrived on that distant hill, thousands of well-disposed men, not tired mentally, despite the crossing they had made until the battle, and before crossing the mountain to the enemy army, the leaders let everyone know the plans of attack and divided the army together with King Khalid's sons, two thousand with bows and swords and a thousand more with spears and slings for throwing stones would be on the slopes of the hill, in the on the side where the enemies were, Attar would join this group at the foot of the hill, Qabbani would surround the enemy camp on the right, with three thousand men, two thousand with spears, and a thousand with swords and bows, and arrows and slings, Nazir would go on the left, with the same number of soldiers as Qabbani, all very well organized to prevent the enemies from leaving on the left or right.
The general took the most problematic part, decided that he would encircle the camp from the north, and had to take a longer and different path from the other groups with the king's sons, he gathered four thousand men, three thousand with spears, and a thousand with bows and swords, and he planned to create a great human chain in this way, would leave the three thousand soldiers side by side and the thousand archers outside the camp, unlike Nazir and Qabbani who would enter the enemy camp with the three thousand men that were available to them.
The army of king khalid wore little protection, only a thin leather under the upper part of the body and some soldiers wore leather helmets, most dressed like the people themselves, typical of the desert, some wore scarves tied around their heads and a thinner skin, dark and tanned.
It took nearly three hours for the entire army to cross the little hill, and they found that they were not seen by the enemy, nor noticed by any wild beasts.
Attar commented sleepily "Very strange that we haven't been noticed, these people from the north are getting sloppy"
Nazir held a small knife in his hand gently smoothed the blade of the knife and calmly said "We should be grateful for their carelessness so that everything can go according to plan"
Attar just turned around and continued talking quietly, "But it's still strange, I don't see any signs of movement in their camp, just a few fires around these shabby tents, but I don't see people."
Qabbani then approached and joined in the conversation "I heard, that in the land of these foreigners, snow falls from the sky most of the year, I think they've had enough of our green valleys and our flowery fields and are homesick" the three brothers laughed.
"I'm homesick too, if we're going to survive we need to have a big party the same way we always do at home" Nazir had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye as he said these words
"Certainly, and the soldiers would like that too" Attar spoke in a soft voice, as if telling a secret, he prepared for battle in his own way.
"I'm sure we will win, everything seems to be in our favor, I think that here we split up, each one will proceed to their battalion, and make sure that everything goes according to plan" Qabanni was already addressing his group of soldiers, they were already almost everyone in their place, silent, and moving almost crawling along the ground, crouched and evading any alarming sounds, avoiding being seen by any guards, and the soldiers of Nazir's group were also already heading towards the left side of the camp, everyone moved quickly and slenderly between the rocks at the foot of the mountain, despite being about to enter a battle at a total disadvantage, everyone was happy with the situation, it seemed to them that it would all end in that hot and dark night.
