The Date is 11th of June 1990 in Melbourne, I lay on my death bed just reflecting about my life and how my life had changed so drastically. Hi my name is Blossom Keely and this is a part of my life story. 'Let's start from the beginning shell we'.

'When I arrived first in Australia in 1909 I was just a young child, aged 5.

Once I finished school, I did nurse training course at the Alfred hospital in Melbourne. Around the time of world War 2,I realised that I could be helping millions of people so I decided to enlist in the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps on Dec/1939.

I got to serve in the Middle east and India, this happened in between the years 1940 - 1956. I remember the time when I was promoted the Rank on a Captain in the RAANC (Royal Australian Arming Nursing Corps).

I can't seem to forget how thankful I was, as I was chosen to be in the Australian 9th division at the battle of Alamein, in the hospital there.

Oh, gosh, I remember the evening when my boss came into my room and handed me a letter that said, I was appointed to Matron of the British Commonwealth General Field Hospital in Japan. I was really appreciated it so accepted it and ended up moving over there in 1949. I helped a lot of people from near death situations and some minor things too.

I also found the love of my life here, he was my everything, But sadly everything had to come crashing down when the Korean war came and he was recruited to help out, his name was Codi Tempting and he die fighting in action. I remember the time when the army offices came a knocked on my door and told me what had happened, I fell down on my knees and cried and cried for ages.

The a couple of days after I got a letter from the Queen Elizabeth 2 saying I was awarded the Royal Red Cross Award, being one of first female Australians awarded it, which was an exciting achievement.

I was asked to fly over to London with a family member which is my Dad and go to Buckingham Palace to receive my award.

After that received my formal discharge from the R.A.A.N.C on 19th/may/1956. All in all I had received 8 serves ribbons, throughout my life and for that I'm grateful and proud of myself.

From then on out I served out helping children find homes, until I had a heart attack, which leads until right now'.

I came out of my thoughts as the heart monitor started to beat faster and faster in and unsteady pattern, nurses rushed in, and told me to hang on, but it was too late, I heard the final beat that my heart will ever take, with a small smile on my face, everything went black.
