The train ride went smoothly. It took 2 days to reach the crowded city. During those two days, the training instructor recognise Koe from a Christmas party and asked if she would like to sing in the dining compartment up in first class. Koe agreed and the instructor also promised a warm meal and a paycheck.

The instructor lead Koe toward the dining area and it was a shocking sight. Despite it only fitting around 20 people and being about 10 feet wide. It was the finest place Koe had ever seen. There was a diamond chandelier on the ceiling, people were dressed in their finest clothes and eating the most delicious-looking roast pork with all kinds of sides.

The instructor, whose name was bob, took her to the band that was in the corner of the room. They were mostly male, but they were all young and handsome except for the man that seemed to be in his late 60s, who held a golden saxophone.

"Alright boys, I found you an amazing singer, this is Miss Kakudo. I heard her sing when I was with my wife in the town we just stopped by. She's perfect for you." Before quickly leaving to do something else.

The youngest-looking boy that had flaming red hair and narrow eyes looked koe up and down before asking "Can you sing jazz?". The boy's voice held a Scottish accent of some sort.

Koe nodded.

Then the boys let her come onto the stage and the red-haired boy gave her a sheet of paper. "know any of these songs?"

Koe looked over the sheet of paper with a list of ten songs. There were only three she could recognize.

"Only three, sir," Koe said respectively. The red-haired didn't look angry thankfully and instead looked like he was thinking.

"Alright, can you sing this at a nice slow pace for each song?" Koe nodded. "Then that's what we'll do. And pardon my rudeness but my name is Rusty, miss Koe" he said with a nod of his head. "And while we're at it, let me introduce the band." Rusty turned around and pointed to a brown kid, with beautiful fluffy black hair and curious and shiny brown eyes. "This is Oliver, he plays the piano, and comes from the fair country New Zealand." Oliver smiled at Koe from where he stood. Koe notices that Oliver also had long fingers that seemed perfect for playing the graceful piano a few feet away from them. Rusty then pointed to the tallest boy in the group.

"This is Thomas, he's from England. He plays the flute." Thomas was a strange boy. He seemed to be 6ft tall or maybe even higher. He was pale and sickly looking, and he had a nasty scare that covered most of his face.

"And finally, this old boy is Samuel, as you can probably see, he plays the saxophone. He comes from Spain." Samuel didn't look Koe in the eyes. He looked as if he was too afraid to look anyone in the eyes. He had light brown skin and was bald except for the tiny bits of hair on the side.

"It's a good thing that bob found you, little miss." Said Oliver with a toothy smile. "The first one ran off the train after finding out that we would be paid the minimum and stomped out the train."

"Well don't worry, ill stick put for the next 2 days" Koe replied with a smile as everyone in the band except Samuel started to chuckle.

"Right. Let's get this show on the road."

"don't you mean tracks Rus," Oliver said with a cheeky grin.

The band and Koe began to play the first song Koe knew. As promised the band went slow and Koe began to sing.

Her voice went around the small compartment.

Almost immediately, as if the food disappeared from their plates, everyone turned their heads to what they thought was a siren singing.

Koe sang beautifully with the jazz music. She sang in low beats with perfection.

Halfway through the song, she had the whole compartment quiet, It was as if Koe but them all under a spell.

For the next two days, the train compartment in first class was always filled with beautiful rich music. And even though only three songs were sung, everyone would always stand up and clap and cheer for the band and the graceful singer.

A lot of people bragged about hearing her sing when they got off their stopped. Some were too mesmerized to say anything at all.

But those two days for Koe were the best time of her life. She spends her time singing in the afternoons. Ate the most delicious dinners she had ever had and spent the rest of the nights hanging out with the Rest of the band.

Koe had a wonderful time with each passing hour.

And when the train stopped at the busy city, she had pockets full of money and friends with their numbers in her small handbag.
