CHAPTER 1 : THE HUNT

"Friggin great..." she mumbles to herself while standing in the middle of a pouring rain outside the building she just came from. Feeling the biting wind on her skin along with the cold drops from the sky, Shuna headed back to the door towards the lobby. For a jobless 25 year old living in a third world country life is a bit...No scratch that. Life really is complicated.

"Sorry. I'll just wait the rain out." she shyly scratches the back of her head and bows down a bit as she passed by the receptionist who's too busy flirting with the company guard to notice her.

Psshh. Get a room. She thinks to herself while fumbling for her iPhone inside her bag. A bitter smile crept up her lips while reading a message on her phone.

"How's the hunt?".

"No luck. T_T" she types on her phone as a reply but instead of sending the message she just thought of calling the person.

"Yeah?" answers the person on the other line.

"Dadddddddyyyyyyyy. It's no use. I'm not good enough." whines Shuna.

"Geez. It's just one company. And this is your 1st attempt to apply. You got a lot on your list".

"Ahuh. But I'm still heartbroken. Tell me you love me...?" she moans to her phone while grinning like an idiot to noone in particular.

She hears a long sigh on the other end

"Okay. I love you so much mommy. That comes in all caps and a lot of kisses. Happy?".

She loves it when her girlfriend pauses for dramatic effect and make it sounds like she's being forced to tell her that. She smiles in contentment. "Very".

Going home was a long ride so when Shuna felt the softness of her bed, she instantly sinks in. The rain has been pouring for hours but she doesn't care anymore. All she cares about is taking a good night rest.

"It's raining cats and dogs. But I got home safe. Wet. But safe. Wacha doin?" she types on her phone and instantly got a reply

"Playin'...waitin' for you. Wanna play while you're still WET? ;p".

A smile tugs on the corner of her lips "Not tonight daddy. I'm pooped..". A few seconds after replying, her phone rings and she wearily answers it.

"But I'm hungry. I haven't eaten yet. And I want YOU for dinner!" says the familiar voice that she never gets tired of hearing.

"Uhmm.. How bout I give you a long kiss then we'll cuddle till we fall asleep?" of course she knows it's up to their imagination what will happen next. It's their only way to cope with the emptiness they both feel inside.

"How bout you turn on your laptop, call me on Skype, take a shower and come back naked." Kiyoshi alluringly answered her.

Shuna snorted while waiting for her Skype account to pop up.

"Way ahead of you maniacally handsome person on the other side of th....ohh..." she quickly clicked the answer button on her laptop.

"That was fast. Considering you're the long lost cousin of Donatello and the rest of the ninja turtles" she added as she ends the call on her phone and lays it beside her laptop. Kiyoshi smirked and rubbed her chin
