ZIYA2 YEARS LATER
"A banging dynamite chicken burger with curly fries and a chocolate shake. Is there anything else you'd like me to bring for you Benny?" Sliding the plate full of food in front of my favourite regular customer.
"No, thank you sweet. How you can carry so much on roller skates will always amaze me. You're like a small bird, sweet!" Benny's fatherly voice spoke as he smiled softly at me.
"Well, I've had the practice Benny. You know Darla and her fascination with roller skating." I replied, handing a napkin to the sweet man along with a special secret sauce that only he receives. Hey, there's perks to being my favourite regular customer! "I've got to get back to the front, don't forget to call me over when you're done okay." With that, I skated my way to the front of the quaint little diner on the outskirts of London.
I wonder if Darla will change the uniform colour. Blue and white is so boring.
Oh, maybe she'll change them to green! Green is such a pretty colour!
Maybe I should make a sample dre-
"Ouch." I grumbled when my butt made contact with the cold tiles of the diner. Why wasn't I watching were I was going? I probably hurt the other person.
"Watch where you're fucking goi-." The deep timber of the person's voice had my head shooting up as I gazed into the most beautiful brown orbs. The boy, no MAN, was gorgeous. With his inky black hair looking fluffy and a few strands landing effortlessly perfect on his forehead. And his arms. Oh. My. Gosh. He was covered in intricate tattoos all with the prominent black rather than any other colours. Drifting my eyes back to his face, he raised a single perfectly sculpted brow in questioning as his lips twitched, attempting to keep the small smile at bay. Clearly he was failing.
And I've been staring at his face. Great going Ziya. Continue to stare at him like a freak.
The handsome stranger held his hand out to help me up which I gracefully accepted. "I'm so sorry, I-I wasn't looking where I was going. I was thinking about the uniform colours and me making a sample colour because the blue and white is just so basic. That's when I thought of it being green and then I bumped into you. Oh my gosh did I hurt you? I did, didn't I. I'm so clumsy and I have a big head so I probably really hurt you. Should I grab something cold to hel-." I didn't get to finish my sentence when I heard the beautiful stranger chuckle. His chuckle sent shivers down my spine and made my face blow up in flames as I registered that I was babbling way too much.
"No worries love, I wasn't looking either. I was on my phone and didn't see you skate by. Don't stress." He smiled softly at me while I tried to listen to the rest of his sentence.
Love. He called me love.
Well hello butterflies. Nice to meet you.
"I think green is the best colour for your uniform colour, this blue and white really isn't doing it for me." He spoke softly as he touched the material of my flowy skirt. Thank goodness Darla wasn't mean about the style of the uniform. "And your head isn't big love, it's perfect." He said as he cupped my face in his hands.
Hello face contact.
He touched my face and instead of flinching I found myself relaxing in his hold. Well, that's new.
"Sweet, are you okay?" Benny came up behind me resting his hand on my shoulder. I jumped out of the small bubble created with me and the stranger and whipped around to Benny. "Oh lord, your face is so red! Are you okay? Are you catching a fever? Should I get you some paracetamol? Lord where is Darla!" Benny panicked which just made me even more red.
"Benny I'm fine, I promise. I just bumped into this customer by accident and I was apologising. I promise I don't have a fever." I reassured the stressed man.
He seemed reluctant to believe me until he noticed the stranger behind me. Nodding his head, he paid for his meal and attempted to give me more money as usual. Then left the store after a long hug and promising to show me pictures of his grandkids when he comes back tomorrow morning.
After handling Benny, I turned to the front booth and noticed the handsome stranger there with two other people. But that isn't what made me go red, it was the fact that he was looking straight at me. A small smile resting on his beautifully pink lips. He caught me staring at him and beckoned me over. Taking very long and calming breaths, I made my way over with my notepad.
"Welcome to Darla's. What can I get for you today?" I said gazing down at my notepad instead of the handsome stranger next to me.
"I'll have your favourite shake and some curly fries. My friends will have a Kinder Bueno shake with extra whipped cream and a plate of Oreo waffles each please." The handsome man spoke while playing with the end of my skirt.
My favourite shake? What an odd request but okay.
"Does anyone have any allergies? Would you like to know what my favourite shake is in case you don't like it?" I asked him slightly looking up to make eye contact with him.
Gosh, his eyes are just so darn pretty!
"No love, it's okay. I don't want to know." He said with that devastating smile on his face.
Flushing red, I nodded and took the menus and ordered the food. I ordered him a Kinder Bueno milkshake with extra whipped cream too because that is the best milkshake to ever exist.
Skating back to the table with their order, I noticed the other two men staring at the table with their sunglasses on. They didn't look too happy. I wonder if I can make them feel happy. Setting everything down, I tapped one of the man's shoulder softly. His head snapped in my direction and I saw his mouth open a little.
"Excuse me, I just wanted to tell you a trick I learnt with milkshakes. If you put your mouth where the cream is, then you have a cream moustache. Watch let me show you." Quickly skating back to grab my milkshake I made alongside their's, I skated back to their table and took a sip on the edge where the cream is. I created a cream moustache and giggled at the tickling sensation it created. The men at the table looked at me with small smiles and I felt better that I made them smile.
Today has been a good day.
