a few weeks ago, the triplets invited you to spend the summer with them in california. of course you agreed! the triplets and you have been best friends since you all were toddlers but you haven't seen each other in forever since they moved.

you miss them so much but, you're so nervous too. of course, you want to see chris, nick, and madi but the thought of seeing matt again made your stomach flood with butterflies. a huge smile came across your face just from thinking of him.

you and matt have been texting and face timing every single day since he moved. but it just feels different now... his name would appear on your phone and your mood would brighten instantly.

you and matt acted like a couple, but you both never dated officially. you guys would flirt with each other but never anything more.

the truth is, you've liked matt ever since 6th grade but you've always been too afraid to tell him. you didn't wanna accidentally ruin your friendship with him and make things awkward. plus, it was never the right time too. either he was dating someone, or you were.

you started to date other boys to try to get over the way you felt about matt but it never worked. all your relationships with boys never work out because of that exact reason. you'll always have feelings for matt.

you were looking out the airplane window, lost in thought when you realized that the plane had begun to land. you got off the plane and you're now headed to the sturniolo's house. you ordered an uber and when it pulled up, you put all your bags in the trunk of the car and then sat in the backseat.

as the uber made it's way through the streets of california, you couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. you then heard your phone buzz and matt's name pop up.

you rolled your eyes and put your airpods in. you started listening to frank ocean on shuffle while you looked out the window.

minutes later, the car pulled up to the familiar sturniolo house. the door creaked open and you stepped out onto the sidewalk. you took your bags out of the car then closed your eyes to take a long deep breath before walking up to the triplets' doorstep. before you could even knock, the door flung open and a smiling nick, matt, chris, and madi appeared right in front of you.

"jules!" matt exclaimed as they all took turns hugging you.

"i missed you guys so much!" you say, with the biggest smile on your face.

amidst the excitement, your gaze eventually found matt's. his eyes met yours, and for a brief moment, time seemed to stand still. the unspoken connection you shared between you two, a silent acknowledgment of the bond that had only grown stronger over the weeks of talking daily.

matt then smiled at you, his eyes filled with a warmth that mirrored your own feelings. "i'm really glad you're here, jules," he said, his voice sincere and genuine.

as matt looked into her eyes, it was all coming back to him now. she was finally with him, and he finally was with his girl.
