George has injured himself from an investigation from his job again and even worse, he's drunk, so Arthur has come to check on him in his room.

"Come in!" The guy inside shouted, clearly with some slurriness in his voice. He comes in and the room smells like if someone left the cheese out open for days. George is there sitting down on a chair, laying his head on the table with starry eyes at the man.

"Oh, why do you have to be this drunk, Mathison?" Comes out of the writer's mouth. "I felt like it, I've been dying to try some drinking experiments with alcohol. Look, I'm making progress!"

George grinned, showing two alcohol bottles that are almost empty. Oh, dear. He's not gonna make it home by himself, can he?

"Look," Arthur approaches him and picks him up bridal style. "I should take you home, you look like you can't even make it two steps without falling." He said, concerned. "You're a hero!" George drunkenly replies, putting a small and smug smirk on his face. "And you're a drunk idiot!" "You mean YOUR drunk idiot?" George jokes. Damn it. He seems too good at flirting, drunk or not. Must be his charisma, really good and something he could use as an agent. "Whatever, I'm dropping you home," Arthur replied.

-TIME SKIP-

45 minutes have passed, with Mathison drunkenly telling the directions to his home and also getting lost along the way. Man, he is quite terrible at directions when he's drunk! As Arthur gets the key from the agent, they stumble to his house. It does smell like rose house freshener and coffee, it might be a little messy, but most of it is still clean and quite homey. He puts down all the stuff Mathison had on the couch and carries him all the way to the bedroom.

"Alright, love, I'm gonna go. See you tomorrow, I guess. Good n-," Arthur told, exhausted from work and also the job of taking a drunk FBI agent who is also injured. Before he gets away, he feels a hand stopping him.

"You know I'm well very drunk and I might need some guidance and comfort for tending my injuries. So, would you mind maybe staying longer?" George asked.

"I mean, sure. Anything for you, sweetheart." Arthur replied. He grabs the first aid kit and gets as close to Maetheron as possible. He applies some betadine on a cotton bud and applies it on George. Arthur can see him tense a little and bite his lip in pain. So, Arthur caresses him on the cheek and places soft kisses near his scars.

"You don't need to be so tense, dear. I'll take care of you," he assured. Looking at George with a sense of concern and care in his eyes. With a sad smile on his face.

God what happened? Arthur thought. "Are you sure you're alright? Who hurt you?" He asked. George avoids eye contact with him and stares at some random corner from his room and Arthur quickly notices this. "No one tried to hurt me, just a few trips here and there. Not much to worry about." George says, clearly wanting to change the subject to something else.

That sounds like complete bullshit to Arthur. He's read a few guilty pleasure romance books to know what's gonna happen. George does have a coworker who's an asshole that George doesn't really tell about. If they ever laid a hand on him, let's just say... things would get out of hand. Arthur and George have only been dating for a few months. Both of them have never been happier. Though, both of them still struggle with vulnerability and emotions. They're understanding, they used to read minds, so why're they having a hard time expressing their feelings?

"I know you don't wanna talk about it. But if they ever did something to you, I... I just don't want you to get hurt. I love you too much..." Arthur expressed, gently cupping George's face. "I know, I'm sorry, I'm still not very used to dating again. I don't want you to feel down with my work stuff and... now that our relationship is pretty good, I don't wanna lose that, I don't wanna lose you again." George rated, quickly filling with tears, eyes puffy.
