Life In A Different Perspective
I hopped off the bed I had been sleeping on. I had a familiar urge to do something.
I ran over to the tall door that stood over me and started to scratch on it with my claws.
''Ok, Ok, Sunny, just a second.'' My person said while getting up to open her door for me.
She opened the door, and I scampered out of the room and down the stairs.
''Mom, I think Sunny needs to go outside.'' Nikki, my person, called out to her mom.
My Nikki knew me well, for that is what I needed.
I ran down the long winding stair-case and through the dining-room to the door.
'Thank goodness for Nikki calling down here.' I thought, seeing that Nikki's mom had been cooking diner, and was just coming to open the door for me.
I sat as patiently as I possibly could will myself behind another door.
''Here ya go, Sunny.'' She said while opening the door for me.
I ran out and off the front porch and into the yard.
'Awww!!!'
I thought as relief flushed through me. 'Relief!'
I sat there for a second.
''SQUIRREL!!''
I yelled while running off to chase the squirrel. I chased the squirrel all the way up into a tree. I sat, leaning on the tree with my paws yelling, ''Hey!! Get Down Here!! I'm not done with you!! You're my chew-toy!! Chew-toys don't run!!! GET DOWN HERE!!!!!!'' I yelled as loud as I could so I knew that the scared squirrel could here me.
To my dismay, the squirrel didn't budge.
'I bet he doesn't understand me...'
I thought.
I then took my paw and pointed down-wards while yelling, ''Come... down... here...You!!''
He still didn't budge...
I bet he does know what I am saying...
''Fine, be that way! I'll get you tomorrow!! Bye-bye chew-toy!'' I yelled while walking over to a particularily green patch of grass.
I lied down. My eyes then began to wonder.
By now I was looking up at the clouds, the big, puffy, white clouds. They where slowly moving to my left.
A slight breeze blew through my dark black hair.
Nikki had given me the name ''Sunny'' because she said that even though my hair and skin are black, my heart is a big, bright, Sunny heart.
I was growing tired, with the warm sun beating down on me and the nice calming breeze. I laid my head down onto my stretched out paws in front of me.
***
''Sunny! Sunny, where are ya girl?'' I heard Nikki call for me.
I jumped up and ran to the back door, where I knew she would be standing. I came up to her, and she patted and pet my head.
''Hey, baby, how are you?''
''I'm good, how are you?'' I asked.
''Wow, you sure are barky today!''
I laid down as she started to rub my belly. I started to kick my leg, as she had gotten to my sweet spot.
''Yeah, you like that. Don't ya girl.''
I replied, ''Yes, yes I do!''
Sometimes I wish that I really could talk to her, but she knows me well enough that she can sometimes guess what I am saying.
''Guess what I brought you?'' She said while stopping petting me and starting to take something from behind her back.
I got up and I started to look behind her, but she held it up above her head.
It was my kong!
''Oh boy. Oh, boy! You want this don't ya!?''
I bark back my reply. ''Oh ya, yes I do!''
She knew that I wanted it.
''Well go get it. Go FETCH!'' She commanded while throwing it as hard as she could.
I went running.
''Hey! YOU! GET DOWN HERE!!'' I yelled at the kong that was soaring through the air. Finally it started to fall down-ward. I ran even faster, to ensure that I would catch it.
It went down, and I ran to catch it.
''Doink.'' It made a sound as I caught it perfectly in my mouth.
''Good girl! God girl!'' Nikki praised.
I strutted back to Nikki in pride.
Once I got back she patted my back.
''Good girl!''
She took the toy out of my mouth and threw it again.
I caught it and came back the exact same was.
"Come on girl. Lets go inside.'' She said once I got back.
It was dusk and it was getting a tiny bit colder.
I went inside and Nikki went to supper. I went to my water dish and lapped up some cool water.
I then walked into the kitchen, ready for the nightly droppings of food.
Tonight was a special night, we were having tacos! They make the BEST droppings! Little shunks of beans, mean, and cheese were my favorite; I don't really like the salsa.
''Drop, plop.'' That's was the most heavenly sound at meal time!
I rushes over to the fallen bean, then eat it up.
***
I hopped up onto Nikki's bed.
''Good night, girl.'' I heard her say tiredly.
I rubbed her foot with my head in reply.
And we both fell fast asleep.
And that is the story of Sunny's day! (And in case you guys haven't figures it out: My character is a dog named Sunny.)
