{Aretha's POV}
According to cousin's info, Korosensei would usually be relaxing behind the school building before homeroom. And true enough, there he was, reading a newspaper and sipping his drink. Sugino, Nagisa and I observed him from behind the bushes.
I like creating strategies, all sorts of strategies. There's a sort of fun that comes through doing research and scheming. It's especially fun when everything unfolds accordingly as planned. For today, I was using Nagisa's info to come up with a way to use Korosensei's habit against himself, with the help of Sugino.
I looked towards Sugino. He had his anti-sensei bb embedded baseball on standby, and now, all that's left is to carry out the plan.
"Ready?" Sugino asked.
"Own target, own timing." I replied. "Anytime you're ready, just go for it."
"Ok!" Sugino stood up and pitched the ball towards Korosensei. Looking towards his chair, it was now empty, and the baseball rolled into the bushes.
"Let's go!" We got up and started sprinting towards the equipment shed. Nagisa took out his notebook, getting ready to jot down notes.
My cousin and I are similar in the sense that we like dealing with information. We find information valuable. I guess it runs in our blood. The only difference is that he likes obtaining information, while I like making use of information.
Upon reaching the shed, we saw Korosensei there. We made it just in time to see Korosensei's destroyed tentacle grow back. A baseball glove was on the floor. I picked it up and turned it upside down, allowing a part of his tentacle and some anti-sensei material to fall out.
"Ahh.. I thought that if I waited here, I might be able to find the culprit." Korosensei mused. "So it was you three."
"Good morning, Korosensei." I greeted cheerfully.
"We actually did it!" Sugino smiled and high fived us.
"Good morning to you three." Korosensei greeted us. "I didn't expect this surprise."
"Of course you didn't. It was a surprise." I giggled.
Mission success!
"Well, you three did a really good job. I can see that Nagisa's info was the foundation of this plan, and Sugino was the brawn. So then, I can assume the brain behind this sneaky attack was Aretha?" Korosensei smiled.
I nodded slightly.
"I see," Korosensei nodded. Then he looked towards me. "Then, I have a pop quiz for you!"
"Me?"
"Yes. Here is the question: What if I didn't retrieve the glove and simply dodged the ball? Your plan would have failed then."
"Ahh.." I muttered. I looked towards Sugino and Nagisa, and we started to smile at each other. We had a Plan B after all.
"Then we would use the backup plan. After sensei dodges the ball, I will start to scold and insult Sugino for not being able to succeed. I will grab the ball from him and throw it at you. Considering that sensei doesn't like overconfidence, you would retrieve the glove to prove that I wasn't so good either."
"That's a good backup plan." Korosensei patted me on the head. "There are other factors that could have ruined the strategy, but that is good enough for now. You have a flair for planning strategies, but there's plenty of room for improvement. Don't get too confident."
Korosensei is honestly the best teacher I've had so far. I smiled at him.
"Of course."
"Wow," Sugino commented. "You're friendlier than I expected." He laughed sheepishly.
"Than expected?" I asked.
"You were so quiet and mysterious yesterday, and we didn't really get to know you much before Karma-kun dragged you out of class." Sugino said. "But, I guess you are really quite out-going and cheerful actually. I guess I just kinda expected that anyone who would go near Karma and possibly work with him would also be a lone wolf."
"Work with him?" I mutter. "We ended up challenging each other to some sort of assassination battle."
"O-oh.. I see.." Sugino smiled awkwardly. I sighed as Nagisa shrugged.
"An assassination battle?" Korosensei asked.
Oops.. We kinda forgot he was here.
"It sounds interesting. I'll be on guard." Korosensei folded his tentacles, his face turning green and yellow. "I shall oblige to dance with you." He chuckled.
"Ahh.." I shrugged. "I'll give it everything I got!"
"That's the spirit!" Korosensei cheered. I look at Korosensei, Sugino and cousin. My school life is bound to get interesting.
"That Karma-kun though," Korosensei shook his head. "He needs to work more with others. He's a teenager! He needs a better and more interesting social life! He needs to learn teamwork!"
I nodded my head in agreement. Korosensei stared at me for a while. He seemed to be thinking about something.
"Hmm, as a teacher, I should teach my students teamwork," he muttered. "Well, I'll see what I can do."
I smiled at Sugino and Nagisa.
"There shouldn't be anyone who is alone in 3-E." Nagisa said.
"Yes! Even if he wants to be alone, we won't let him!" Sugino said.
"Speaking of Karma," I mutter. "What do you think he'll try to do?"
//End of Class//
____________________________Author-chan here! Yes, this chapter is shorter at 800 words. I actually hoped to keep every chapter with minimum 1000 words, but I really want to get this chapter posted before I forget.
Well, there happens to be something else at 800 currently. That's right. I got 800+ reads on this fanfic. Yay! :3
I missed the 500 reads moment aww. But yeah. Thank you to all my readers. I won't be back that soon, because of exams. I have two subjects tomorrow, and both are the weakest subjects. I gave up studying 2 hours ago, so I updated the fanfic. XD
Yeah.. I'll be back soon hopefully. I usually do my fanfic drafts in class, but with exams happening, there aren't any classes I can write this fic in. But on a side note, I passed Chinese! Yay! I don't know why I'm happy. XD
See yall soon!
