Damn it my shoulder hurts i wish i had been more careful surfing this morning. If i tell my folks they wont let me surf my heat tomorrow and if i tell manu he will tell them. I guess I'm putting up with it oh shoot poppy is asking me something. " hey Ari are you joining us for some practice? " poppy asks. " sure lets head out. " i reply.
As we head down to the beach I regret saying yes as my shoulder throbs and burns protesting again the movement.
As we head in to the water I forget all about my shoulder and just enjoy myself. Until about thirty minutes in when the burning sensation comes back. We all catch a couple more waves and then head back in to shore my shoulder is in unbearable pain by now and i try my best to act normal but poppy catches on. " hey Ari are you ok? You seem a bit quite? " poppy asks politely. " its just my shoulder giving mr some trouble i am fine though. " i answer.
" maybe you should tell you folks and miss your heat tomorrow. " poppy says and the other all chime in agreeing with her . " no way am i missing it it will be fine by tomorrow! " i answer appalled they would even think of that. Before they can say anything i say " I'm going home i will see you all tomorrow." . " bye Ari!"they all say.

The next day
I woke up this morning to my shoulder feeling worse than yesterday however i got on with it and now i am about to start my heat and there goes the horn . I rush in to the water getting ahead of everyone else and take the first and best wave if the set scoring a 9.3 putting me in first place the feeling in my shoulder is no better as i take a couple more wave as we become half way through the heat. Once i am sure i will either come first or second i tell myself i cant stay out here so i start heading in for shore. Once i get back Manu comes up to me and asks why i came back in and i tell him everything he just looks at me with a disappointed expression and tells me to go sit down as he calls my folks to come pick me up.
A couple of minutes late my folks turn up and i tell them everything they immediately take me home to relax my shoulder.
