I awoke in a cold sweat before quickly jumping up and startling the once asleep beast besides me. Abaddon shot straight up and started snarling at whatever "danger" was present.
"Hey boy shhhh calm down. Its okay, we're okay nobody is coming to hurt us"
I said while stroking his ears; Abaddon rested his head against my side while I laid with my back against the wall. It was still early morning; too early for any of us to be up and I can't fall back asleep so I pop in my headphones and close my eyes.

The thumping of the beat swirls around in my head and instantly puts me at ease. The cold breeze of the air conditioning, the dark ambience of the room, the comforting weight of my family on the side of me:
This is pure ecstasy

It's moments like this were immortality is beauty. It's moments like this where I actually feel alive; I don't feel like my life has been taken away from me. I feel myself drifting back to sleep; only this time I'll be able to sleep perfectly fine.
