Venus's POV ***
I'm finally back home. Today was really strange, but at least I made some new friends.
As I walked into the orphanage Mr. O'Brian told me to go get dressed for the event and then help the younger kids. I nodded and went up to my shared dorm, and grabbed my outfit for tonight. I chose to wear a white dress that had tiny red roses on it. The dress went down to right above my knees. I'm also wearing white flats.
After I got dressed I left my shared dorm, and went to help the younger kids get ready.

It took a little bit but I finally finished helping the younger kids get dressed. The event is starting in thirty minutes and I still haven't decided where I'm going to be helping out yet. I was walking around seeing if anyone needed help when I ran into Miss Kelly. She's in charge of the babies and sometimes she helps out in the kitchen. I smiled and asked if she needed any help. "Actually, I found out through Mr. O'Brian that there will be a few couples here who are deaf I was just wondering if you could be here in case we needed a translator. If not, that's okay." Miss Kelly asked. I smiled and told her I would do it. It's either that or I sit there bored the entire time. We both then parted ways and went about our afternoons.
Next thing I know it's time for the event to start. Families and adults start to show up. I noticed Miss Kelly signaling me over and I knew that she was ready for me to be the fill in interpreter.
When I walked up to them I smiled at the couple and shook their hands. (ASL will be in italics)
"Nice to meet you! My name is Venus. I will be interpreting for you guys today." I introduced myself to the couple who I found out are Lisa and Connor Jones. They're a really sweet couple and they aren't really looking for a baby, they just want to give someone a stable and loving home. I personally think that one of the older boys, William, would be a great person for them. He's fluent in ASL, and has been moved around a lot. The Jones's would be a great place for him.
I let Miss Kelly know about my opinion. She agreed and we told them and him about how great a fit they would be. They sat down in one of the community areas and got to know each other. I decided to run to the restroom and also grab a snack whilst they were talking.

It's been a few hours and so far we have had ten successful adoptions. That's a really great amount for the first few hours. I haven't had a real connection with any of the families that have come through today but all of the caretakers are hoping I find a new home this time. I think they just want the best for me and they want me to 'reach my full potential' according to them.
I'm currently just sitting in Mr. O'Brian's office waiting for him. He's grabbing dinner for the both of us. I'm gonna work on my homework and when he gets back he's supposed to schedule home visits for the kids that got adopted. I was waiting patiently when I heard someone walk in. I turn around and see a tall man with brown eyes, a mustache, and semi-curly hair. He's holding a little boy with brown eyes and blonde hair.
"Hello, I'm Venus. How can I help you?" I ask the man. He smiles at me before asking where Mr. O'brian is. I told him he would be right back but I may be able to help him.
"Well my sons and I are looking to adopt. We are hoping for a more feminine person, but we just want to offer our home to someone who could use it." Once he finished I was going to respond, but Mr. O'Brian walked in. He told the man that I could take his son to the playground in the back while they talked. I smiled at the little boy and he held his hand out.

We were on the swingset seeing who could swing the highest. I found out the little boy's name is Malik, he's nine and has three older brothers.
"Malik, where are your brothers?" I asked him. He smiled and told me they were probably with his dad because and on cue his dad walked out with three guys and Mr. O'Brian. It took me a second but I finally realized that those were the guys I met at school today.
"Venus?!" both of my new friends yelled at the same time.A/N:
