Ok I know this is my fault but hey can I help it if I don't like my life? Why can't I go into someone else's and get enthralled in a book like a warm blanket around me, like a maze. Just get lost in it because life really sucks right now, like usual. But hey what ever right?
Nope I couldn't have just stayed in my little world, I had to get up this morning and go to school. I wish I could have saved myself from all this embarrassment.
But that's life its not fair and wishes don't come true all the time. Everything happened when I went to a little coffee shop across the street from where I live.
It was a small and enclosed place , plus a bonus was it was right next to the book store I go to. I often went there with my friend Emma its our usually hang , we go their every Wednesday to study for our next big exam or to talk about the latest gossip at school and exchange good books.
It was just a causal Sunday when I dropped by just after picking up " Everything Leads to You" by Nina Simone, so I went in , in a hurry trying to duck from the rain pulling my coat over me.
Opening the faded red door , I get my usual order and sit down plopping in a straw into my drink. And opened my book... I must have lost track of time because when I checked my phone it was already 5:45. Crap! My mom is going to kill me.
We are supposed to be having dinner with my grandparents at 6:00. That didn't leave me a lot of time to get ready , good thing a live just across the street.
So in a hurry I put my book back in my bag and got up to leave. Rushing out of the café I tripped and fell back into someone. Cruse my slippery shoes, looking up my face meets a pair of hazel eyes.
"Sorry" I stuttered as we both got up from the tangle we were in on the floor. I looked up at the tall dirty blonde in front of me.
He held my gaze for a couple of seconds before smirking , and saying " that's ok you can fall into me anytime". I rolled my eyes , what a flirt. He extended a hand out for me to shake , which I limply took.
" Ethan" he said. "Claire" I said. "So can I offer you a coffee?" he asked. "actually I was just on my way out" I responded feeling slightly guilty , I had just bumped into him.
" Well I'm new here, hope we see each other again" Ethan stated and sent me a wink. I rolled my eyes again. " Yeah.. see ya around Ethan, bye" I mumbled on my way out.
Running across the street to my building I wandered in thought... Hmm that was weird.
