I just think this AU suits them too much!

Word Count: 10 922 (This is my longest fic!)

Wakashimazu's POV:

I was sitting in the crow's nest, as usual. My legs hanging through the wooden bars, my head laying against the mast, the briny breeze playing with my long hair...

I was enjoying the peace of a place far from humanity, a place even above the troubles of the deck. I sometimes think this might be how God feels like, watching the beauties of the world from heaven. However, a strange feeling suddenly washed over me, like a cold wave. It was peaceful... too peaceful, strangely peaceful, not usual for our ship.

I sat up, examining the horizon, and I didn't need a spyglass to see what was approaching us.

"Captain!" I took a good hold of the rope that hung from the mast and slid all my way down it skillfully, jumping onto the deck.

"Cap'n," I called out again over the noise of the sea, bursting the door of his cabin open. He seemed busy, with a lot of stuff over his dark oak desk, so I immediately regretted my mindless interruption, but, to my relief, he didn't seem to mind at all.

"What's the matter Wakashimazu?" he asked, standing up with a half– rather quarter smile. He had taken off his long jacket and his hat to be in his room, so he was just wearing a shirt under a brown laced vest with black pants, pretty much like myself but with his own captain luxuries like his always-shiny leather boots or that heavy belt with the gold buckle he had treasured since he found it among the objects of a booty.

I stuffed my hands in my pockets nervously. I didn't wish to ruin his good mood, but this was an imperative subject. "A storm is approaching, it will probably arrive by tomorrow night."

He bit his lip as if thinking. "Is it a problem?" he said, asking about the size of the storm.

I knew he didn't want to change the course. We were headed to an island which we had been told held a great treasure. I knew that the captain was looking forward to living one more of our adventures, and, of course, to doing it before anyone else. Many pirates were following us, and, although only the captain had managed to get the map, we couldn't afford much delay. Despite everything, it was my job to be honest. "Big problem, Cap'n."

"Then tell the crew to get ready." He turned his back at me as he commanded this.

"To bring a spring upon 'er, right?" I asked, wanting to believe that he meant to change the course.

"To go through."

My expression turned worried, and I took a step forward. "But captain–"

"It's settled."

I sighed, knowing I wouldn't be able to change his mind. He's the most fierce of the seven seas, for sure, but he's also the most stubborn, yet no tale talks about that. I'll just have to make sure we get away with his crazy enterprises once more. "Aye aye captain," I replied, leaving the room.

I stomped my foot on the slightly rotten wood of the deck. This beauty, our ship the Toho, had gone through all the calamities bared by a man's imagination, so I was sure she would hold herself together this time too.

"Batten down the hatches!" I shouted to the crew before giving them more details about the situation. They nodded compliant, starting the arrangements by hiding the objects that laid outside and tying up the bigger things.

No wonder why we are the best pirates to sail these seas, we have all that a good set of pirates needs: An awe-inspiring ship, a loyal crew, toughness and boldness spare, and, of course, a great captain.
