Today was the day. The day I'd been dreading since my mom broke the news. She was going to New York today for a few months and my brother and I would be staying with her sister, my aunt Emily.
So I decided to throw mom a huge surprise party before she left for New York. And thankfuly it was a success. The last time I'd seen her, my aunt, was when I was about seven, due to my mom's late working hours.
"Bye mom " I said trying not to cry
"Bye mommy" Alex cried as he hugged her for the last time.
"Bye my sweethearts " she said waving and walked towards the terminal.
So there we were watching mom off at airport with aunt Emily.
Once her plane had lifted off I felt empty, like a part of me just got ripped out and I can't function properly without it.
"Ice cream?" Asked my aunt as we slowly walked out of the airport
"Okay," I responded trying to sound polite
