Weeks flew by, until, before they knew it, the term was already over. It was time for the holidays.

Kiva was studying in her room, or trying to say least. She looked at her textbook. Then back at her book. She sighed, Kiva would rather be doing anything else but studying.

As if echoing her frustration, the wind blew against her window shutters, making them rattle unpleasantly.

Glad to find an excuse to leave her desk, even if for a few seconds; Kiva got up to close her windows. When she sat back down, Kiva looked at her textbook one more time. Then, knowing she wouldn't be going anywhere if she continued as she was, Kiva promptly closed the book, making herself promise to do it later.

It was a hot, beachy, day, and Kiva's room felt like an oven. So, grabbing her phone, Kiva messaged the group.

12:08 PM

Kiva: Hey, does anyone feel like going to the beach?

A few minutes later, someone replied.

12:11 PM

Caldon: Sure, I'm free at the moment. What time?

Kiva: Meet at your front door at 12:30. Is that good?

Caldon: 👍

Kiva: Cool, see you then

Putting down her phone, Kiva called out to her brother, "Hey Tor! Caldon and I are going to the beach for a bit!"

No answer. Kiva frowned and checked her phone. It said everybody was online but Torell and Jaren. Looking at the time, Kiva had to push her brother out of her mind ad she hurried to get ready.

Kiva arrived at her friend's house carrying a basket of food, towel and drink bottle.

Caldon's family's house was large and opulent, painted pure white with gold trimmings.

A perfectly manicured garden was spread out where a lawn would usually go. And large fruit trees dotted the garden.

A few seconds later, Caldon opened the door, looking dashing as ever with his tanned skin and handsome face.

Caldon was only dressed in a pair of blue swimming trunks, leaving his chest bare. He carried a towel, and a bottle of sun lotion.

"Nice seeing you, Sunshine," Caldon greeted, stepping over beside her.

"How many times have I told you not to call me that?" Kiva asked, blushing.

Caldon slung one of his well-muscled arms around her shoulder as he led them from his house.

"Too many for me to remember," Caldon answered, grinning. Kiva playfully swatted at his arm.
