The team, still shocked about the situation, didn't know how to respond, what to say, or what to do. Silence filled the room, until a certain brunette decided to speak.
"W-what are we going to do now?" Asked Suna worriedly. Suna is one of Atsumu's 'closest' friends, or so he thinks, cause all he can think about right now is the hate Atsumu must have towards him. After all, friends shouldn't treat each other like that. Yeah a few jokes here and there don't hurt, but he went overboard and he knows that.
"I...I don't know, I don't know what to even say, I'm his brother, his twin, we are supposed to stick together through thick and thin, but all I did is bring him down....I'm an idiot" muttered osamu.
He is hurt, knowing that his own brother doesn't trust him, is truly a hurtful thing, however, osamu knows he deserves it, he did treat his brother very poorly, but he does love him, he just thought that those words, he called teasing, didn't hurt atsumu.
After all, Atsumu acts all confident and cocky, so it makes sense that the teams thinks that those words don't hurt him, but he is still human, and words, even if it's a joke or not, can hurt, and can change a person. In this situation Atsumu changed to a much more confident person.
Ironic isn't it? A person changing into a much more confident person? That doesn't really makes sense does it. But there's a reason for that, after all there is a reason for everything, for Atsumu, he thought changing into a more confident person, that the words wouldn't hurt as much, and that it will help him hide his fears from people, hide his weaknesses, hide his true self.
"Ok let's try to see what needs fixing first" declared kita. Kita feels like an utter failure, when he heard the words 'favoritism' from sakusa he knew he is at fault, he is supposed to make sure everyone is ok, yet he failed at doing the bare minimum for his team.
"First, and the most obvious thing, is to change the way we talk to Atsumu, think before we say anything, another thing, due to the lack of trust Atsumu has in us, we will arrange team hangouts, to have fun with each other and get to know each other better, since it seems we barely do"
"We can also walk with Atsumu between classes and sit with him in lunch" uttered akagi.
"Yeah" agreed osamu
"Hey Osamu"
"Yea?"
"What did sakusa mean when he mentioned about middle school?" Asked aran
"I'm not sure, but what I know is that tsumu back in middle school wasn't like that at all, he was sensitive, caring and scared"
"Scared?" questioned akagi
"Yea...I never knew why, but tsumu back then hated socializing, I would usually do most of the talking for us, however, during our volleyball practices he would talk a bit more, which makes sense cause he is a setter" muttered osamu.
He doesn't know the cause of atsumu's quietness back then, he just knows that he was much more shy. "I really do miss that side of Atsumu, but I hated how he used to get hurt easily" continued osamu.
"We have to accept that people change, whether we know the reason to this change or not" said Kita. It's true, time changes people, so does the situations and the obstacles they go through in those moments, some change for better, others for worse.
Meanwhile with the others
"Who was calling?" Questioned komori
"Oh, Iwa is coming, he couldn't before cause his mom told him to help her with some stuff"
