"V, what do I do?" The pale young man shook his head, he didn't have an answer for her.
"What kind of answer are you hoping for? Your son was born with remarkable gifts, though sadly it appears to be killing him." V said, looking through the window in the hospital at the 4 year old unconscious in the blankets.
"He never wanted them! He doesn't deserve to die, he's innocent..."
V looked into the room again, at the monitors hooked up to the boy. She was right, he is innocent. After everything V had done in his life... he didn't think he could ever right all the wrongs. But maybe he could help this child.
Claudia Stilinski, the woman that was his best friend, who changed him for the better. He owed her everything. He'd done every possible thing he could to cure her but he knew and she knew she didn't have long.
Every second her son was in this bed was another minute they could've been together, building memories for the boy.
"Claudia, I... I may have a solution..."
When their eyes met he saw the shine of tears. She tried to get a word out but nothing came. He smiled at her.
"You don't have to speak, just listen." She nodded. "You may not like this part but, I could temporarily possess him. Just long enough to fix his body then I'd turn myself off. I'd be there but essentially, asleep. Keeping his powers away, keeping him healthy and alive. Though I don't think I could fix his clumsiness." He said, trying to throw some humor in.
He knew what he was suggesting. If nothing interrupted the process her son would live a long normal life and when he died V would drift away, find another host and continue living. Claudia would be long dead before that could ever happen.
"Are you saying... that the only way to save my son is for me to never see you again?" She whispered, tears making a steady path down her cheeks.
He nodded to her, a kind smile on his face. She broke down into light sobbing clinging to his chest. He hugged her back just as tightly. Kissing her forehead softly.
"I made so many mistakes in my life, so many bad choices that hurt people. I killed because I thought it was fun, because I thought that it could satiate my hunger... It didn't, I just got worse and worse... Until I met you... You changed me... This is the least I can do..." He said softly, looking into her eyes.
"But I-" She struggled to find the words, but when she looked into the room. Seeing the little boy she had raised. The child she loved. She nodded. "The doctors said he only had a few days left, are you sure you can save him?"
He smiled at her and wiped a few of the tears from her cheek. "I can make it so he's free of sickness. His healing will be enhanced a bit..." He mumbles, trailing off. If he did this her child would live, but there'd be no chance of saving her. He'd never see her alive again... He pushed that thought away. "I can make him normal..."
She nodded, and he pulled her into a strong gentle hug. He'd do anything for this girl.
He silently pulled away from her, getting up, ignoring the hand that she held out for him. Walking into the room he slowly closed each of the windows. Then shutting the door. Claudia saw a flash of dark purple light.
Minutes later doctors rushed to the room. It only took a few more minutes for a doctor to come out to her, with a smile on his face. He beckoned her forward. She stood up feeling numb. When she entered the room she saw her friend's host body. Being wheeled out of the room. The host was already dead, that's the only reason he stayed. But when her eyes met her little boys she broke down crying.
Stiles tried to reach out, tried to get out of bed. But the doctors pushed him back down. "Mommy!" He yelled.
She ran to him, pulling him into her embrace. He saved her son's life. She felt a wetness on her shoulder and immediately knew Stiles was crying.
"Did I die?" He asked.
She couldn't help but smile at the bluntness. "No honey. You're ok." He smiled at her through the tears. She softly wiped them away, feeling how delicate his skin was under her thumb. She pulled him back in. "I've got you."
A few minutes later Noah came. He had tears in his eyes when he saw his wife and son hugging. His little boy was ok.
He ran into the room squeezing them both tightly. He heard a grunt from his hold, and felt squirming. "Daddy! I need to breathe!"
He loosened his hold. Looking down at his son with a large smile. "You're ok now."
Stiles nodded, letting a toothy grin come through, showing off the fact that he had lost one of his front teeth, courtesy of running into a tree branch. But then he yawned.
"Daddy I'm sleepy." Noah nodded, looking to his wife who had tears in her eyes as well.
"Stiles, do you want to come home?" The little boy nodded bleary eyed. A nurse came over and unhooked Stiles from the machinery. He let out another large yawn as his father picked him up. Claudia signed him out of the hospital and they went home together as a family.
As Claudia looked at her little boy she couldn't help but think of how far her friend had come. She didn't know how she had changed him. But somehow she did it to the point that not only did he realize his wrong doings but wanted to fix them. He gave up everything so willingly, just to save her son.
And as Stiles dozed off in his fathers arms she couldn't help but smile.
Author's Note -
Here is the beginning of the redo of Not Normal.
Same basis of plot line but totally different, and much better story. I was re-reading what I wrote earlier and cringed so badly at so many different parts.
If I get 5 requests for the old one to come back then I may repost it, but I will not be finishing it that way. So there's really no point but it's up to you guys.
What do you guys think of the redo cover?
And I don't know if I'll be able to get all the updates out that I planned. So is there one or two stories that you guys really want me to publish before school starts?
Please submit requests now!
Thanks!
