Her tears fell as she watched the love of her life leave,
Hopes dry, heavy with the burden of heart's grieve,
Answers no show, questions her mind asked as she heave,
In her state, how can she roll up her sleeve,
Work till the merry-man calls her to his heed?
She didn't have direction, her feet planted with no motions
She swore when he left, he carried her emotions,
Trying to comprehend, who'd leave behind such devotions,
Promises made to make life more than just a notion,
Her man now, someone she knew would not show,
Wipe your tears for the merry-man freed...
Courage? Bravery? Crazed to think she could do it,
A fake smile? One step at a time? Women do it to fit,
She's beautiful, smart, maybe use your wit?
Come on Amelia, haven't you ever been someone's spit?
Do you, be you, chase that dream, it's big, admit
For when the merry-man calls, he has no greed.
Denial, he couldn't leave me. He'll come back.
Anger, how could he do this? There's nothing I lack.
Bargaining, if he comes back I will turn to his snack,
Acceptance, then again when he left, my cloud's no longer black.
There's a silver line Amelia, trust the merry-man's creed.
She put her hurt behind and love for herself she sort after,
Didn't take long to gain back her laughter,
And if anyone would walk up and ask her
She would gladly speak of the struggle to master
Her own merry-man and her dreams got her past that.
