Around July 18 or something, it was our 1st day of school again. After 2 years of online classes, we finally went face-to-face. Of course, all the school supplies cost like 6,000 pesos💀. So we got the uniform, bag, socks, shoes, and school ID. I was nervous as hell and I couldn't sleep so well that night.
The next day, I woke up at 5 AM or something. I took a bath in cold water since I didn't have time to heat some water. I brushed my teeth, put on my uniform, wore my bag, and went to school. My mom couldn't come with me on the first day since she had work, so I had to find my section on my own, lol. When I entered the classroom there were only 3 people in the classroom. I was so early. I sat on my seat and waited for some students to arrive while our adviser was trying to connect her laptop to the TV. Then finally some students came in.
Since we didn't go to face-to-face school for 2 years, I was so surprised to see some of my classmates wearing full uniforms; straight-cut pants, long skirts, and different designs of school shoes. Some of them didn't even change. But most of the boys went through hardcore puberty. They got this deep-ass voice, especially my one classmate named Jose. His voice was so deep that you couldn't even understand what he was saying. Although you can understand him better if you were talking clearly with him.
I didn't know most of the people in my new section because they were mostly in different sections before, so I kinda had to be more of a social butterfly so that I could gain some new friends and know each other. Luckily, our adviser wasn't strict and scary. Her name is Mme. Maegan. She's hella nice and friendly. I could understand why she's like that though because she's only 25 years old, haha. Anyways, we started to do some kick-off activities like introducing ourselves, doing meditations for some reason and played a few games.
In the part where we had to introduce ourselves, I was pretty excited. I wanted to flex my interests in the classroom and I didn't want my classmates to think I'm some K-POP addict like most of the girls in most sections (No offense to those who like K-POP though 😅). So when our Mme. Maegan called me, I grabbed my notebook and went on the platform.
"Good morning, everyone! My name is Saei. I play guitar and I love the band Nirvana."
Our adviser was like: "Oh! So you like Nirvana? That's so nice. "
Then she told the whole classroom: "To those who don't know the band Nirvana, it is a Rock/Metal band. "
( In my mind I got pretty mad since Nirvana is not a metal band, it's a grunge band. But yes, Nirvana is also rock, I think. )
After that, as I was walking towards my seat, my classmate Jose, who sits in front of me, asked me if I knew the band Slipknot. It hyped me up because I love that band, but I tried not to show my emotions that much because it was the first day of school. I sat down on my seat and I felt pretty happy that someone knows and likes the same band as me. I wouldn't consider myself a metalhead though. But overall, metal is badass if you're into hardcore music. And by my classmate's faces, I don't think they even know Nirvana.
We also played a guessing game where you have to guess what word is written on the blackboard. So since it was the student's turn to choose what word to make our adviser guess, me and Jose my buddy over here decided to make our teacher guess the word Slipknot. I was a bit shy to choose the word Slipknot and write it on the blackboard because NO ONE in that classroom listens to metal. Luckily the class just went with it and made our teacher guess it. When our teacher was done guessing she saw the word and was surprised because the word is a metal band, lol. But still, some of the students were like: "What is Slipknot?" Their questions were understandable since Slipknot existed when we weren't even born yet.

Around 11:50 AM, it was our dismissal and I went home. I arrived home and I thought to myself: "School was so fun WTF." It's funny I thought of that because after that I just realized IT'S JUST THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, things will go serious sooner.
