surrounded by toxicity and a bad past, she struggles with body image and beauty. with a touch from the wand of fate, an angel was sent to her.

i gritted my teeth and took a deep breath.
don't kill her, anabelle. she's not worth it.
go and spend time with delilah and get it over with.
my phone rung and i looked at it. i clenched my jaw and answered the phone.
"yes, vincent?" i said.
"hello, anabelle."
i despised this man with every fucking fiber in my body. i don't know if it's because he was the one who made me into who i am or is it the fact that he killed my parents.
"i have a job for you?"
"i am done working for you, vincent. i made that clear two years ago." i replied and used my finger to stir the ice in the cup that was filled with tequila.
"you were 15, you're 17 now. you've changed and have a more mature mind." vincent said and i sipped the tequila.
"what is it that you want me to?"
"i need you to illuminate elliot belle's daughter." vincent instructed, "her name is delilah belle."
my stomach dropped.
"why should i kill her?"
"that's is for me to know and for you to not find out," vincent spoke, "and since when do you question who you're assigned to kill?"
"i don't kill innocent people, vincent."
"4 million dollars." he bordered.
"no."
"8? if you won't accept it then someone else will."
i hung up. i wasn't going to kill my delilah. now, she's a target. vincent will have another assassin to do it since i refuse.
"fuck!" i throw the glass at the wall and it shattered.
maybe if i hadn't started dating her i wouldn't be feeling so bad right now.
no. don't think that. she's a blessing and she doesn't deserves an unnecessary death. she's innocent and she didn't do anything. her father made has some problems with vincent that is going to cost her her life.
with the thought of delilah being a target and most likely to be dead, i pushed everything off of the table in anger. i throw the chair i was sitting on across the room and it broke into many pieces.
i used my foot to push over the table and cursed loudly.
fuck you, elliot.
i tugged at my hair as i paced back and forth. think, anabelle, think.
i can protect her but if he gets an assassin, then maybe i cannot. they'll most likely go for a headshot and it's something she won't survive.
this is a warning kill we're talking about.
they won't be going for headshot. they'll have to have a close shot and in order to have that, they'll have to be near her. vincent is going to need her head to make this threat looks believable. he can't just say, "i killed your daughter, elliot", he'll need proof and that'll mean, i will get to stay near her all the time.
deep breaths, anabelle. deep fucking breaths.
the door to the mini office burst open and delilah came in looking alerted.
"i heard the crashing and yelling. are you okay?" she asked, rushing to me to check if i was injured.
i didn't say anything but grabbed her face and smashed my lips against hers. delilah didn't say anything as she kissed me back. i melted in the kiss, closing my eyes and soon, we pulled back.
"baby, what's wrong?" delilah asked, looking at me in worry.
"nothing," i smiled, trying to convince her but i could tell she wasn't convinced, "i just... got some news that made me mad."
she gave me an uneasy look.
"if you say so, belle." delilah pecked my lips, "if you want to talk, im here."
i nodded and watched as she hesitantly retreated from the room.
