"Not that one... Not that one... Not that-"

"WILL YOU JUST PICK SOMETHING?!" I yelled, throwing down the remote. I really needed money, but babysitting my brother probably wasn't the best way to get it. Sighing, I flipped through a few more channels until I saw a cartoon.

"There. You're a kid. Watch cartoons."

A small cartoon cat walked onscreen and started doing old cartoon gags in an attempt to make us laugh. He seemed kind of familiar, but I couldn't grasp where he was from. He continued pulling jokes from a bag he was carrying: pies, rubber chickens, banana peels... It went on and on. Suddenly, he turned his bag over and looked at the screen, aggravated.

"Come on! Not even a chuckle?"

I sat back silently, wondering where this was going.

"Those all used to make people laugh! They always worked! Why won't anyone laugh now?"

He walked to the front of the screen and pressed his paws against the glass.

"Can you even hear me?"

I couldn't help but feel bad for him. Oh, well. He was just a cartoon. What could I do?

"Maybe I am losing my touch. That's why everyone forgot me." He said, looking down at his bag and kicking it.

"You remember me, don't you? What's my name, kid?"

"Mickey mouse!" My brother shouted.

"Of course... Everyone loves mickey mouse... Nobody remembers me."

He looked up at the screen with anger in his eyes.

"NOBODY REMEMBERS POOR OLD FELIX THE CAT!"

He punched the camera, and it fell over. Shocked, he ran over and picked it up.

"I'm sorry. Please don't change the channel. I never air anymore. What a way to thank me, eh? I'm the reason that doofus mouse and all his ripoffs exist, and they love him more than me." He said with a sad chuckle. "In fact, maybe you should go watch him. I'm sure my dear copycat is better than I am at this."

The screen shut off by itself, and I rushed to turn it back on. Flipping through the channels, I couldn't find that one again. Sighing, I took my brother to bed, before going early myself. That's where I am now. It's late at night, and I can't stop thinking about what I saw. I figured I might as well share, in case someone else saw it too. Anyways, I'm going to try and get some sleep. My parents get home soon, and they don't need to know that I was up this late thinking about some stupid cartoon cat.
