"Octavius what are you doing?!" Nairobi rushed over to the stair railing, looked over and seen Ethan's belongings all over the living room floor from Octavius throwing them over.
"Speeding up his moving out process" He mumbled as he maneuvered around Nairobi, without making eye contact to walk back to Ethan's room. "He supposedly moving with his grandma, his real grandma"
Ethan walked back into the house, scooping a new pile of clothes up in his long arms to take to his car, not bothering to box or bag his belongings. "Ethan are you leaving to go to your grandma's?" Nairobi asked in a saddened tone. Despite all that he said to her, she still loved him as her own.
She turned her head to see Octavius coming back and put her hand out to stop him. "Octavius. Your biological son or not, that's still your family. Just ... talk to him. It can all be fixed"
"Between that and the gun? Hell nah. Not to mention the other lil bullshit he do" Octavius threw the clothes past Nairobi and watched them fall to the floor below before looking back at her. "And on top of that, he had the option to accept the consequences or leave, he chose to leave ... because he ain't wanna get his car taken away. That's pitiful, childish"
"But" She paused, looked down towards Ethan then back at Octavius before letting out a aggressive groan. "Both of y'all are stressing me out"
She followed Octavius back in the room in attempts to stop him from grabbing anything else. "Just fucking talk to him. Maybe he's going through something Octavius, goddamn"
"Well the nigga need ta' speak up"
"It's not always that easy. Not everybody can be vocal— if Aaliyah was going through something and was too scared to tell anybody but acted out like Ethan, would you do this?" Octavius paused and gave Nairobi a quick stare before kissing his teeth. "Exactly. So why are you doing this with him? Because that's not your biological? Like what is it? Do you not love him as much—"
"Shut the fuck up Nai. I love him just as much as I love Liyah and Sy. But I ain't gon be disrespected or let you get disrespected. If I don't do some' bout it now it's only gon progress. The difference between him and Aaliyah is that Ethan is about to be a man. The boy already strong as hell. What you gon be able to do if he put his hands on you, Aaliyah or Sy while I'm out doing what I gotta do?"
Octavius didn't give her time to respond before leaving back out of the room and meeting Ethan, who had just came to the top of the stairs.
"I'll call you a crew to get yo bed and shit. I ain't moving that shit down the stairs unless you want it thrown over the rail too" Octavius mumbled as he brushed past Ethan. Ethan's eyes followed Octavius with a slight mug before looking at Nairobi, who looked at him with puppy-like eyes.
