He broke up with her
Two weeks ago,
He'll come to town
To drown his sorrows,
In liquid silk
And velvet strange pleasure
Which he'll regret the next day
When he doesn't recognize
The woman that isn't her
The flesh he touched
That wasn't hers
And the pain he forgot
For just a little while
When he entered foreign ground
And closed his eyes
Reaching for the map
To guide him back home
But it isn't his house anymore,
And the golden path shuts him out
That when he
At last,
Opens his eyes
He's lost forever,
And she's on the other side.
