The first thing Percival remembers from his childhood is his mother calling for him. "Percy, come here, I've got something for you" he had excitedly ran over to his mother, hoping that she had gotten him something good, like candy, or a toy. She instead produced a handmade doll of an elven man in fancy clothes, holding a sword. It was not made with the finest materials or even with matching cloth, it was fairly ugly by most standards, but Percival had loved it, because his mother had made it for him. "Do you know who that is, Percy? It's your father, King Belorin Vanmarir of the Sword Coast". Despite the conditions of which they lived in, squalid housing and his mother having to sell her body to keep Percival fed, she was not lying, Belorin Vanmarir, the rogue king of the sword coast, was in fact the father of Percival Wells. But this fact would soon be revealed to be a curse, rather than a gift. A couple hours after his mother had given him the doll, there was a loud banging on the door. "ROYAL POLICE! OPEN UP!" A booming voice demanded, Percival's mother hid him under the floorboards and told him to be absolutely quiet, no matter what. He followed her orders and watched as the men kicked in the door and began to interrogate his mother, "Where is the boy!?" She simply laid there, refusing to acknowledge the question, eventually the guard got impatient and they sliced open her throat, her blood running along the floor and through the cracks of the boards, Percival lay there, being covered in his mother's blood as he remain quiet as a mouse, once the guards left, he rose from the floor and said goodbye to his mother, before running away, never to return.
A grown Percival stares down at the blood stained doll in his hand, remembering what his father had done that day, he chokes back his tears and puts away the doll, heading off the find a new group of adventurers that may be able to help him overthrow his father and his fellow tyrants, freeing the Sword Coast once and for all from the terror of the Four Kings.
