How Aries Became To Be

After that day, I guess I gained a.. friend? I don't know what to call her, we parted ways in the afternoon and ran back to the market to get whatever I need, without her by my side I could only afford something small, the only thing I was able to get was bread, what kind of feast would THAT be?

Walking around the market, I managed to find a sleeping old woman, she seems to be a butcher. I was use to having to steal at this point and as long as my family was fed I'm sure I can take a few pieces..

I pulled out a pocket knife from my pocket, just incase things had to get a bit physical as I grabbed a few pieces of meat, it was difficult to find somewhere to put it, I can't put it with the bread the blood will get everywhere and it'll make the bread taste anything but good. I know stealing and getting caught isn't worth the risk but at this point I couldn't see my family go hungry, especially on New year's. The society we live in is damn cruel.

I looked around before sighing, ripping apart of my shirt to wrap the meat in, putting it in the basket, before I could leave tho, a man decided to see me crash and burn by yelling out "HEY YOU! DON'T LEAVE YOU CRIMINAL, HE STOLE SOME MEAT!" Great. Now the area was alerted and before I knew it I threw my knife in his mouth to shut his trap up. But before I knew it the butcher lady was already awake and the other villagers were staring and I assume, Lady's kid. Was pissed and just the sight of him got me running, no way am I gonna stay here any longer.

I grabbed a woman's scarf and ran, just to cover my head so he wouldn't notice my head, as he ran through yelling "GET BACK HERE AND PAY ALREADY!" How was I supposed to, the job my brother and sister have don't even pay much, and as for myself, I steal. I was not allowed to get a job until I'm at least 18 or 19 which is a shitty rule.

The guard yelled out to me "saying you're poor and need help doesn't mean you have the right to steal, where are you parents kid? Shouldn't you be at home with them?"

I growled a bit as I heard a familiar voice, don't tell me—"Let the brat go"
Yeah..it's my brother, I'm gonna get in so much trouble-"Aariz! What are you doing here!?"

"I could ask you the same thing. What are you doing stealing huh? If you didn't know you're only putting our asses in jeopardy of our jobs, with your way of 'helping'. Thanks to you I got a dirty look from my boss and a talking to"

He glared down at me, his eyes slit, pissed and annoyed at the same time as he walked over to the guard and gave him a sack of money, the guard was pleased and ripped the ropes I was tied in and soon I got up, and dragged away by the ear my brother pulled *can't I ever get a break around here * I thought, I was already a criminal at age 14, all I wanted to do was help my mother get better from her illness..yet he's making it seem like I'm destroying our family.

"Get back here you rat!" I snapped out of my thoughts as the butcher's kid caught up to me, give me a damn break.

I turned a sharp corner, jumped on a box and climbed up on the ledge of the roof, now running and constantly jumping from building, when I thought I lost the guy he appeared Infront of me.

I fell back trying to run the other way as he grabbed my foot and I knew the games up. He pinned me down as he got up, and held a knife to my neck "you better return what you stole asshole, or you could pay like any other person, normally would. We need that money" at this point I was getting sick of the dude so I looked away annoyed as hell "well I don't have any, I need the food" he looked suspiciously at me and rose a brow "really now? Why is that?" Wasn't it fucking obviously at this point with how I was dressed and looked? Gawd I hated this man already "why should I tell you Huh? You're a stranger pinning me down on the roof looking like you're about to pound my ass at any moment yet here you are with your pants up asking dumb questions" he took the bate. When he realized what I've said his face turned a bright red, with that I used it as a distraction, kicking him off me and he ended up falling from the roof, is he okay? Don't know, and I don't really care. Those that get in my way shouldn't have bothered to mess with me and my time.

I walked back home, now it was the late evening, the sun was going down as I entered our home. Mother was chatting with Aariz, and my sister Aakifah. As I just yelled out "I'm home! I couldn't get much but it's somethin'!

Their heads turned to me and my mother looked at me with delight "oh my baby~! You're home!" She was shaking, but she managed to get up, and hugged me kissing my forehead, o missed her, I'm suprised she isn't to tired today, must be the New Year's spirit in her.

I chuckled and hugged her and helped her back down on the bed, as he sat down the food "I didn't get as much as I wanted to, but we'll get to eat meat for this year!" Aariz looked over and picked up the bread "the bread doesn't seem half bad either.." Aakifah got up and went over to the small kitchen we had "then let's make it a simple feast, we got enough vegetables and left over spices, a simple steak dinner could work just fine!" Mother then joined in with responding "I heard there was a new year's performance going on in the middle of town, if we hurry, we might be able to see the fire dances you enjoy so much Aadeel.."

Excited was one way to describe my my reaction. And maybe I'll be able to spend some time with father if I have extra time, no way am I gonna shut up at the cemetery after tonight's performances.

"Hell yeah!!"
