"How is the situation?" asked Walter.
"Creatures keep popping up as sorcery. We've already defeated more than fifteen and the number keeps growing," replied Jason."
"And where are the creatures coming from?"
"As I understand it, they stick out from behind those two rocks," Luiz said, joining the group and pointing out two huge rocks some fifty yards away from them."
"I think there must be some magical portal there." We'll have to get there to turn it off, or something like that," Walter explained.
"But how do we do this?" Barbara asked, not knowing what to do.
"I don't know, my little girl, but we need to try something."
"The hard part will be getting there," Frank said, pointing to a bunch of creatures walking toward them.
"Let's join our forces and advance with each assault against these terrible creatures."
The group plunged into the war that had broken out in front of their eyes, hitting anyone who dared to attack them as they walked towards the two rocks. As the whips coming from Barbara and Emmy's firm wrists snapped in the long distance, Pedro, Jason, Luiz, and Frank slashed mercilessly with their sharp-edged knives. Walter, in turn, launched himself with his sword enchanted by the frozen water of the waterfall, which turned out to have the hardness of a rock, but the thickness of a reflecting pool.
As the massive attack strengthened, Aquanator was entertained, seeing that bunch of idiots trying to progress against his army to destroy the portal, which, according to what Walter imagined, had been created by Bhaltair Arasgain. That magical instrument could only have been conjured with the intention of allowing the creatures to enter and exit that cave as they needed to. In this case, dozens of these evil beings entered with only one purpose, to finish off those who tried to prevent the fearsome wizard's plans to join the five stones.
The legendary waterstone further enhanced the elemental warrior's abilities, allowing him to have a little more fun before putting an end to those hopeful humans who hadn't yet realized the magnitude of his power.
Walter, commanding his partners and allies, advanced inch by inch as evil beings fell to the ground. Frank, who still couldn't reconcile with his grandfather's resurgence, approached, while beating whoever appeared in front of him, to ask some questions:
"Grandpa, tell me exactly what happened after we parted, please. How do you do these deals with water?"
"My grandson, to tell you the truth until now I didn't realize it. It was all too fast," said Walter, as he thrust his watery sword into a wild Skum.
"Why did Jason call you Betbo? What do you mean, guardian of the water element?"
"So, Frank. I never wanted to bring up the subject of my childhood in the Mariana Islands, because I wasn't even sure about my past, or I never wanted to accept who I really was. It's still too fresh for me, but as I understand it, I'm a son of the sea!"
"Son of the sea?"
"Kind of confused, right?"
"Confused? It's insane!"
"That's right, Frank. At first, I thought so too, but Master Cadassi showed me something I couldn't see, and since then I've been wondering who I really am. Until faced with imminent danger."
"Which was when we parted ways."
"Yes! When we parted and I was surrounded by more than twenty of these creatures, that's when I definitely connected to my real me, with my past lives and my soul.
