POV: Clearsight

It was the middle of the night when Clearsight jolted awake, struck by a vision. The scenes echoed, taking over her mind:

A strong, black dragonet, blacker than the blackest night, holding a small black and pale grey dragonet down, "I wish there was another way," the black dragonet says, "but I must kill you to get what I want, what I need." Another dragonet, a sleek dark blue one pounces on him, only to get flung aside. "Stop it!" The black dragonet growls. "Wait for your turn."

The black dragonet, older now, pushing one of the other dragonets off a cliff, killing the other quickly in their sleep.

A black egg, getting shattered before it could hatch. The mother cries, knowing it was the right thing to do, yet still grieving. She hugs the other two eggs tight, murmuring to them, "no one will ever hurt you, little ones. No one."

The black dragon, full grown, ruling all the tribes with little mercy. Another dragon sitting on a throne beside them, being loyal but encouraging them to make the right choices. Failing

Clearsight couldn't shake how much the last one reminded her of one of the futures with her Darkstalker. She had repeat, over and over, to herself, "it's not us. It can't be me and Darkstalker. Our future is bright. Our future is bright. Our future is bright."

Darkstalker was woken up by Clearsight's mumbling. "Are you okay, Clearsight?" He asked, worried.

           "No..." Was her only reply.
