Hello folks! So "The Reckoning of Emmie MacKenzie" is the first in a two-part series and I highly recommend reading them in order, or else you'll be utterly confused.

This was initially meant to be another story completely. I have another series that a lot of this story was part of, but I ended up going in a different direction and tossed a lot of it. But then I came back to the parts I had written and tossed (which was a lot) and thought the bits and parts were too good to leave gathering dust and hence, "The Reckoning of Emmie MacKenzie" was born. Not to mention, as a Hufflepuff, I felt there was a serious lack of good Huffllepuff-led stories out there and wanted to give it a shot.

It's dedicated to all you Hufflepuffs out there. If you're like me, it's nice to have a story with a Hufflepuff as the hero. Especially when they don't die...

Hope you enjoy!

The MacKenzie Series:

The Reckoning of Emmie MacKenzie
Emmie MacKenzie has always been everyone's idea of a stereotypical Hufflepuff - at least on the surface. Quiet. Timid. Yet friendly and always willing to help. At times she comes across as a bit of a pushover - especially when it comes to her (sometimes) overbearing friends and (always) overprotective older brother.

She loves her life, her friends and family. And wants nothing more than to fulfill her dream of playing professional quidditch for the Arrows. However, she's tired of being quiet, scared, stuttering Emmie.

It's her sixth year at Hogwarts, and Emmie is determined that things will change. It's time to be more confident. Snog someone. And maybe, finally, do something about the crush she's had on her old childhood friend Oliver Wood since first year.

The Education of Oliver Wood
It's been years since Hogwarts and things haven't turned out the way they were supposed. Emmie and Oliver were supposed to live their happily ever after - get married, have amazing quidditch careers, and then have tons of quidditch-crazed kids.

But the war changed everything.

After losing his brother, Oliver went down a dark hole and couldn't pull himself out. Emmie tried to help, but after being pushed away a few too many times, she finally gave up, helplessly watching from the sidelines as he spirals out of control.

Both Oliver and Emmie have to find themselves again, as do many in the wizarding world. The question is, is it too late? Or are some grievances too much to forgive?
