It was a slow day at the office...Ms. Wright had been filing papers the entire day.
The constant shuffling of papers, clicking of pens, telephone rings, and business talk surrounded her.
Her eyes glanced up at the clock occasionally, she was counting down the minutes until she could get home and relieve herself by-
"Ms. Wright do you have a second"
Ms. Wright abruptly snaps back to reality
"Uhh, sure!"
She follows her boss into his office and is greeted by a man with olive skin, a block-like figure, and bacon hair.
"Ms. Wright, meet our new employee, Mr. Hoops"
*Goddamit not another noobie* she thinks...
"Hello Mr. Hoops, pleasure to meet you" she claimed while extending her arm for a handshake.
*She looks at her boss*
"How could I be of service?" Ms. Wright asks...
The Boss explains, "Well Mr. Hoops needs some training, so I'd like to know if you'd be up for the job?"
Ms. Wright sighs under her breath.
"Of course!"
"Great... Well first you should give him a tour of the workplace and then teach him the ropes"
*The Boss leads them into the hallway then walks away*
"Well then, why don't you follow me Mr. Hoops"
"Please, call me Drew" he says with a smile.
*His voice had a warm, soft tone*
"Oh... ok" Ms. Wright replied. "Why don't you follow me"
She paused for a brief moment
"Drew"
He smirked, and walked behind her. Drew was mostly quiet whilst taking in the new workplace. He admired the way Ms. Wright showed him around, how she included every detail of his new job. He thought about striking up a conversation, but decided not to. Drew was mostly a shy individual, and not one for talking to strangers, but for some reason he wanted Ms. Wright to notice him more than as a new employee. He wanted a friendship.
"Well that's your tour" Ms. Wright stated, staring at Drew.
There was a moment of silence before he replied.
"Thank you" he said.
It was the end of the day, and the only thing in between Ms. Wright and going home was Drew.
"Well then if you'd excuse me" she says. "It's my time to leave".
Before Drew can even respond, Ms. Wright rushes past him to the doors, clocks out, and goes home."
"She sure is different." Drew thinks.
