ISLA
The weekend in Spain was everything I needed. I feel so relaxed now and ready for the following challenges. Charles had to fly to Italy because something urgent came up, so we split our ways at the airport. Here I'm now in my room cleaning up my wardrobe. It's not messy; I have too much stuff I haven't worn in ages. A doorbell rings. I'm not wasting my time. I go to open it because I ordered some food and I'm starving. I open the door of my tiny apartment, looking for cash in my wallet. I exchanged money from Spain that I didn't spend, so it should be enough here.
"That was quick." I say, taking my money out and looking at the delivery guy while handing the money over, and I can't be shocked more. "Josh?"
"Oh, hello, Miss Isla." He grins as always.
"Don't need the change. Keep it as a tip." I say, taking my food from him.
"Are you sure? It's going to be about ten pounds." He says after doing quick math.
"I'm sure." I assure him. "I still owe you money for a drink at Starbucks the other day."
"If you saying so." He shrugs. "Thank you."
"No problem."
"See you tomorrow at uni."
"Of course. See you soon." I smile, closing my door.
I put a pizza box on the table and take my phone from my back pocket.
Me: You won't believe who just delivered my food.
Howard: Hit me.
Me: Josh!
Howard: Are you going to freak out again?
Me: Dunno.
Howard: Besides that, he is your student and bought you a cup of tea; there's nothing to be worried about. He is friendly, and believe it or not - Josh is a normal human being like me or you.
Me: The positive of this situation is that I gave him a big tip, so he has his money back!
Howard: Well done, Mitchell.
Howard: I'm so proud of you.
Howard: You acted like a normal human for once.
Howard: That's really surprising.
Me: Oh, stop with this sarcasm.I roll my eyes and start to enjoy my double cheese pizza. It's heaven in my mouth. I scroll through social media while eating. When I finish, it's already ten, and I feel that I don't want to get back to sorting out my wardrobe, so I decide to leave it until tomorrow. I go to sleep.
The next morning is crazy because I forgot to set my alarms and do my laundry. That's why I wear a casual dress with tights. After all, I wasn't late, and the good thing is that it's not raining today.
When I leave the office at noon, I bump into someone with printed pages for Henry. Copies are all over the hall. I'm not happy with it at all.
"Are you okay?" The man's voice asks me.
"Yeah, I guess so."
"I'm so sorry."
I look at him. The smirking guy. I smile.
"You shouldn't be on a lecture?"
"I was going there."
"Of course." I laugh. "Well... Do you want to help me with these?" I ask, showing with my hand all the mess this situation has made.
"Of course. I'm sorry. You just look beautiful in this dress."
I freeze motionless. Did he really say that, or it's just my imagination?
"There you go." He hands me the pages. "See you at the lecture in..." The smirking guy checks his watch. "Two hours." He smiles with one corner of his lips.
