Nezuko became a demon before the incident with her family she pretended to be a human even though she could barley control herself
She was the one who killed her own family she went berserk and killed them then knowing tanjiro's amazing sense of smell asked Muzan to come to mask her sent he did and then took Nezuko so tanjiro didn't find Nezuko's body only the dead bodies of his family there limbs gone his mother lost her two legs and arms the two boys lost one leg and half there body his other sister lost half her body an arm and both legs
After this he ran to Saburo and told him what happened he then stayed with Saburo for a few months until Saburo convinced Tanjiro to become a demon slayer he set out to find a trainer for him to become a demon slayer and also was convinced by Saburo that Nezuko could still be alive he then was determined to find her and left he didn't know she was a demon
The rest is said and will be explained further in the book I most likely will update this chapter if I add anything new or have any new ideas so be on the look out for that 😀 if I do update
