Ruined by society"Hi." Dongsik greeted his office bench neighbor next to him with a deep wave, the other didn't bother to reply. He nodded to himself and awkwardly turned on his PC while waiting for it to run. While looking around the room, he felt like going to the bathroom, he didn't want to work, not anymore. He went to the bathroom only to be stopped by his supervisor. "Yook dongsik-ah!" He screamed just to humiliate him, Dongsik looked over at him intently. His supervisor placed his hands on his hips to appear taller than he actually is. "Yes...?" He asks, the other pityingly slowly approached him. "Aren't you doing your job?" he hissed at him, Dongsik could feel the eyes behind him staring at the scene he's just capturing himself in. "No, I actually wanted to go to the bathroom." The other sneered around the room and aggressively removed his glasses. "Don't act so innocent, it hasn't been that long since you arrived here today." Not wanting to talk at all, Dongsik vented his anger on his fist and mentally cursed the person in front of him. "No answer? I'm right, aren't I?" Slowly Dongsik looked up again, everyone giggling and trying to hold it back. They probably have no empathy at all. "A little enthusiasm wouldn't hurt you, Mr. Yook."
"As if I care..." he whispered to himself, trying to calm himself, the other heard it clearly. "Repeat that." he commanded in a theatrical voice, Dongsik shook his head and let a tear fall from the pressure. "Nothing." He bowed. He went into the bathroom and tried not to show that he burst into tears. Luckily nobody saw it, but the others suspected it but only to annoy him. He felt like a punching bag, it's his fault when he's getting bullied, he doesn't stand up for himself, it has to be it doesn't it?
He was shaking as he burst into tears and pressed himself against the sink to try and hold back the sobs. "Sorry, I can't stand up for myself," he whispered to himself, making him feel even more miserable than he already is. He grabbed a tissue and wiped away his tears to calm himself. He slowly breathed in and out, he doesn't want to live anymore. When did he notice? Since he was unhappy everywhere in this city, everything was so dark. Everything made him unhappy and just wanted to get out of this cruel society that made him hate this world. They call psychopaths emotionless and have no empathy, but are no different from them. Even psychopaths are better, psychopaths at least kill these people and make themself feel better. "Nothing comes without a sacrifice." He read outloud from a website on the news that there was a serial killer in the area where he lived. The name was "The Predator". Dongsik turned off his phone and sat down.If I don't want to live anymore but die, I should at least blame them, they should regret it. Though deep down he knew they wouldn't care if he died. They would at least take care of the company's reputation, nothing more. Was that the value of his life?
He turned off the PC, left work recklessly, he excused himself as being ill to go to his cold, low-temperature room in which he lived. He sighed and grabbed his phone to email his office neighbor. He accused him of killing himself and his superior too.
It was after midnight and he had seen a tall building from the outside, as he passed it he felt like jumping. He will, he must. He clenched a fist and went in, it was broken and caustic from the inside. It had a depressive vibe that made him shudder. He went up the stairs until he reached the top, he looked down and he had only now realized how tall this building was. He felt like he couldn't jump.
I'm a coward, he thought to himself. In such a situation, he was determined to keep the promise he had made to himself. But why can't he just let life go? He was too excited about what was going to happen in the future, he was worried about what was going to happen to the world. Maybe he'd be happier, maybe he'd die from a killer like the Predator. He fell to the ground in tears for not jumping. He sobbed and tried not to hold back. Besides one person there was nobody there anyway. Behind him stood a person dressed in black with bloody gloves, he was not to be noticed as he slowly walked towards Dongsik with gentle steps. Dongsik felt like he was being watched and the fear of looking back was dangerous. He wiped away tears and turned around only to be aggressively grabbed by his neck, which was poised over the high fall he was about to make. He couldn't breathe as he didn't try to free himself, if he did he would fall. Maybe it's a better death than falling down. He will accept being a prey of this predator. that shocked the killer. Pulling Dongsik to him, the unknown person gasped in shock at why he didn't allow this simple murder. It would have been a bonus, he hit the ground in anger and stood there panting, stunned. He crouched next to Dongsik and wondered why this man looked so familiar to this person. Dongsik burst into tears, gasping for air while looking at the stranger. He agreed to be killed or live, he didn't mind anymore.
"Didn't you want to jump? Why didn't you?" Dongsik gasped and said hidden in his gasp, "I was a coward...I couldn't do it." The other nodded, he looked back at dongsik standing up again. "Then let me give you a chance." Dongsik also stood up slowly and grabbed his neck. "Chance?" he repeated, he considered, the other smiled.
"Yes, I will drop you from a high rate, you may die and you might survive.
"An 50/50 Chance?" The person nodded with an lunatic smile going wider. "I dont mind both anyway." He sighed and nodded in agreement. "If you dont die, i will kill you anyway."
"Well, if you're going to live, you should sleep with your eyes open so you can at least look at me when I strangle you to death." Dongsik made a worried face that sounded scarier than he had imagined. He wanted to withdraw from his deal, that was a wrong decision. "Maybe I shouldn't..."
"Even if you are no longer in, you agreed." the killer said angrily and grabbed him by the collar and reluctantly pushed Dongsik down the stairs until they reached the floor where the killer was going. When Dongsik looked down, he felt fear again, this is a bad death. Being killed by a fall when that one person lets you go feels terrifying. "See you, the Predator." Dongsik chuckled weakly, weakly holding from the killer the hand with a broken smile that hadn't smiled in a long time, while a warm liquid ran down his cheeks, which were his tears. Maybe it will be the last person he will see.
The Predator let go and dumped Dongsik into a bush which may have saved his life. But it didn't matter, his leg was still touching the ground. He was still banging his head on the ground, which the bush couldn't stop him from falling unconscious to the ground. The stranger looked down and knew he hadn't died, but he didn't win either. He will follow this man until he sees him dead by his own hands.
