The sounds from the speakers beamed as many people walked along the white walls. Luggage everywhere.
Talking, chatting, but he couldn't understand what others were saying.
'I should've payed more attention to my Japanese teacher...' The boy thought in his head. The sounds were deafening, drowning him.
He pulled his hood up and took out his earphones. The only thing that could comfort him right now. Good music. Country, pop, just the language he's used to, English.
He hopped onto a tourist bus and sat by the window. The cherry trees they passed was beautiful, much more beautiful in real life.
After what felt like hours, the boy, who was now asleep was woken from the sound of ringing.
He took out his phone and put it by his ear.
"Jimmy! Where are you right now?" A girl said on the other side of the phone.
"On a bus, what time is it there?" The boy asked, looking out the window.
"Not sure, but it's late night here, I asked my father and he said that he can let you stay at his place while you're there!" The girl said with glee.
"Oh, thanks. It would have been better, I'm not that positive with being able to speak in Japanese..." The boy mumbled quietly.
"Uhuh, that's what happens when you skip Japanese class! And you're the one who said you wanted to go to Japan, yet you hated Japanese class, what irony..." The girl grunted. Making the boy sigh.
"I know Rachel- but I could always use translate! That's what technology is for, and to be fair, I was more detective than Japanese."
"Fair. Well, I'll message you the address to my father's place. Message me when you get there, and take lots of pics! The memories of Japan is getting a little fuzzy to me" Rachel chuckled before hanging up, making the boy look up at the bright sun, shinning brightly. He looked back onto the road, before his phone dinged.
_
"Hello? Is this Rachel's dad?"
A huff was heard as the door creaked open, a man wearing a singlet and beer cans on his desk. He looked sternly at the boy.
"You're Jimmy, correct?"
Jimmy tensed up, the man sounded intimidating, luckily he was able to nod slowly.
"Eh-" The man fell back from his chair before standing up clumsily.
"So it really is you- Sorry about the mess-"
"No, it's okay, I can help clean up." The boy stated before putting down his luggage before going over to get the cans and put it into the bin.
After they cleaned up, the man made some Ramen and placed it on the table before getting chopsticks, Jimmy gulped.
'Chopsticks, how did I forget they use Chopsticks...' Jimmy was nervous, he had never used Chopsticks before so he would definitely mess up, and even in front of Rachel's father, it would be embarrassing.
"Uhm, are you going to eat?" The man asked, making Jimmy flinch before chuckling nervously.
"Yeah yeah-"
The boy grabbed the cup... and gulped everything down, without spoons and forks, that was the only thing he could do, and now felt like the other option was better, because his clothes became wet, and his tongue felt like it dipped itself in a volcano.
"H-hey you- you just" The man was stunned at the boy before shaking his head and walking off.
"I'm going to get you a glass of water"
