Max's Movie Night

After a boring, but interesting day at school Max asked Hopper if 'Jane' can come over to her house. He was skeptical because Billy was most likely going to be there. "Don't let your step-brother do anything to her, k?" Hopper asked me. I nodded my head, took her hand, and started walking toward my house. I didn't see Billy's car in the driveway so I was in the clear till he comes home.
I grab us some snacks out of my cupboards, and she asked me what I was doing. "I am getting prepared for a movie, what else?" I say smugly. She sat down on my carpet and I sat next to her with some candy and drinks. I turn on the movie and we started watching it together.
They were far into the movie until a jumpscare came on the screen and El jumped and held onto Max's arm tightly then Max looked at her and she chuckled a bit. El kept jumping from the jump scare. She hugs Max tightly because of how scared she is and Max just looks at her. She wraps her arm around her waist tightly hugging her.
It was getting late and the movie had come to an end, Max walks El up to her room when it was finished. I heard Billy's car drive into the small driveway that we have. He didn't look like his normal self, he was walking all weirdly, plus he had Tommy, his friend I think, drag him inside. I was quite surprised when El nor Billy woke up his dad from his slumber. His dad would've been so pissed off seeing Billy all lopsided.
Billy and Tommy walk into the living room seeing me clean up my and Eleven's trash from the floor. Billy and Tommy continue to have their hiccups, whispers, and giggles. "Why are you still up at 11 o'clock, Max?" Billy asked me sheepishly or drunkenly. Honestly couldn't tell if he was super tired or just crazy drunk. I didn't answer him at all and kept on cleaning making him sigh dramatically, he even slightly whined when I didn't answer.
"I am cleaning up a mess off the floor, what does it look like William?" I snapped at him. He was taken a little back for me using his full name, "D-don't call me-" *hiccup* "William, you brat," He says to me. I rolled my eyes at him, I kicked out Tommy later on and then placed a blanket on the sofa because he wouldn't be walking up those stairs without a little hurl or vomit.
"Lay down and get some rest Billy," I say patting the sofa cushions down so he could lay more comfortably. I went to the kitchen, put some ice cubes in some water, then placed them down in front of the sofa on the mini coffee table. I walk up to my room to go sleep because I was getting sleepy myself. I hear Billy flop on the sofa groaning and whining. He gulped the ice water down and let out a relaxed sigh.
The morning slowly rose above us so the weekend was beginning since Eleven went to school on a Friday. I woke up myself and Eleven, but I just knew that Billy or Billy's father is going to be awake too. I walk down the stairs with her as she rubs her eyes. I was right, but this time it's the both of them. "Who's that Max?" Neil, Billy's father, asked me. I looked at El in a slight panic. "I am her friend 'Jane', sir, and you might be?" El says reaching her hand out for him to shake.
He took her hand and shook it, "Neil Hargrove, Billy's father, and Max's step-father so nice to meet you 'Jane'," She smiled then looked at me, "I guess I have to go back to Papa since I don't want him worried," Neil raised his eyebrow. "I was staying the night Mr. Neil, with your step-daughter and I was talking about my Papa, Papa Hopper," She says to him.
"Oh, so you're the sheriff's daughter?" He asked her. She nods her head yes then nudges me to walk her out. "Alright, I am going to drop her off at the station so her father can take her home," I say to Neil. "Can her mother pick her instead of you dropping her off?" Billy asked with a mouthful and got a head smack by Neil. "Ow, I was just asking Neil," He says to his father.
"I- I don't have a mother..." El says kind of quietly. Billy's face didn't even faze or fade, "Oh, sorry 'Jane'" I walked her out anyway because the atmosphere in there was getting claustrophobic for me. I drop her off at the station and told the deputies to tell the sheriff his daughter was there for him. Some of them nodded and some of them went to go find him. She had to wait in his office since he was on a case at the moment we got there.
