To say Karishma was shocked, would be an understatement. Why was she there? Perhaps, the angry young woman was given the wrong address. It was not the first time Kavisha would have messed things up.

Despite her surprise, Karishma's first instinct was to salute. It was a reflex action. She was a senior after all! Besides, the sub inspector would not let all these years of training go down the drain due to some stupid astonishment.

"Jai hind Maddam Sir!"

The aforementioned women replied, with a hint of concern in her voice, "Jai hind, Karishma Sigh. Aap yaha? Koi pareshani hui hai? Aap thik hai na?"

Karishma couldn't help but let a small smile adorn her fierce features. It warmed her otherwise stone cold heart a bit.

"Nahi nahi Maddam Sir. Hum thik hai. Humein lagta hai hum galat address par aa gaye hai. Kavisha bhi na." She mumbled out the last part.

Maddam sir's face geared up in realization.

"Kavisha? Karishma Singh aap Kavisha ki behen hain?"

The confusion rose yet once again. How did Madam Sir know about Kavisha? Unless..Oh god no way.

"Lag raha hai ki aapne sahi ghar ke darwaze par dastak di hai."

The early morning of 15th November was a rather chilly one. Santosh Sharma, a constable at Karishma's work place, exaggerated her shivering for the third time as she continued searching through the files.

"Ama kya hua tum ko Santosh? Itna kahe tharthara rahi ho?"

The young adult looked up from the files and smiled sheepishly, "Kuch nahi Karishma madam. Sirf bohot thand hai."

Karishma's slightly annoyed glare turned to a rather gentle one. It was no secret that the terrifying short tempered woman had a soft spot for the youngest member of the station. Santosh Sharma, though sometimes naive, was a breath of fresh air to be around. Her bubbly, innocent aura often cheered the room up.

The sub inspector asked her to take a short break and get some tea for herself which brought a delightful grin onto the constable's well defined features. She rubbed her palms and headed towards the tea stall, leaving Karishma alone. Others were not in the police station yet. Cheetah Chaturvedi, another constable, had the night shift and was getting some rest. While Pushpa Singh had the some errands to run and would arrive a bit late.

And as for the person that had been on her mind for quite sometime, Maddam Sir was called upon at the Headquarters to discuss about a new case.

The mere thought of her senior stirred up a strange feeling in Karishma. Perhaps, it had to do something with the fact that not only was she the only one in the station (except Pushpa Ji) to know about her ongoing divorce case, but also the fact that she understood her situation and let her stay in for some time.

That was surely a lot to digest for even someone like Karishma who was always prepared to face the unexpected.
