Yashirou opened her eyes to find herself outside of a hospital room.
"This must be the first memory Hanako wanted to show me." Yashirou thoughts she opened the door she was standing in front of. Inside of the room, she saw two twin boys, a doctor, a father, and a very sick mother laying in bed.
"Mommy, can I tell you a story?" Asked the little boy standing further away from his  father.
"Sure Amane! What do you have to tell?" She asked with as much energy and enthusiasm that she could possibly muster.
"Once Upon a time... Once Upon a... Mommy? I forgot what I had to say," Amane giggled.
"Oh that's alright sweetie. Both of you, come here. Hold mommy's hand, okay?"
Amane and Tsukasa both shuffled closer to their mother, and held her hand.
"I'm going to miss both of you boys very much, but just know that I will always be watching over you and keeping you safe."
"I love you Mommy!" Amane said as he gave her a big hug.
"Mom, where are you going?" Little Tsukasa asked.
"Well Tsu Tsu, Mom is going to a place called heaven, and you'll learn about it someday when you're older."
"Okay mom. Just don't forget to come back and see us," Tsukasa smiled.
"I promise, I won't forget honey," their mom smiled through tears.
Amane, Tsukasa, and their father waved goodbye, and left the hospital room.
On the drive home, Tsukasa saw his dad crying over the steering wheel, and immediately knew something was wrong. As Tsukasa grew older, he knew his mom died, and that's why she wasn't visiting. The older he got, the more it tore him apart.
However, Amane always believed that he would see her again. He always had hope that she would come back home one day, and that was one of the only things that kept him happy.
The death of their mother is truly what led the twins to become completely different people. Hanako good, and Tsukasa evil.
Yashirou couldn't believe what she had just witnessed, and she sat on the floor of the hospital room.
"Hanako, you were only five!" She said to herself.
She heard the voice of current Hanako behind her saying: "Don't worry about it, it's only a memory. And even if I wish I could, I can't change the past."
"Eek!!" Yashirou jumped. "You were back there the whole time?"
"Maybe, but that's not the point. Are you ready to see the next memory?"
"Ready as I'll ever be I guess," Yashirou sighed.
