Norway's POV:

It was only supposed to be a way to keep the Germans from advancing north into the Baltic regions. Not this. I never thought that things would get this bad, never knew that I would fall for the idiot that ruled us. I just wanted us to all be friends like normal, but instead it separated us, killed our friendship.

**~**

The morning of June 17, 1397 was like any other morning, the Sun was shining and the birds were chirping. We were at Denmark's house, discussing what to do about the German forces, which in all honesty worried all of us. Well Denmark, Sweden, and I that is.

"I have a proposal. Margaret and I think we should form some type of alliance. You know, between us three, well, some others as well. But that would at least keep the Germans away from the Baltic regions. Whatcha think?" Denmark said, a wide smile on his face. I raised an eyebrow. I didn't know where he was going with this, But at the time, I didn't really care. I just sat there, silent.

"What Do you mean? How would we do that? What is the reason?" Sweden leaned back in his chair, Finland sitting beside him. The two had been inseparable since the Viking ages. Denmark only laughed.

"The king of yours and Norge's countries. He's married to Margaret yes?"

"Denmark... Haakon is dead. He died a long time ago-" I was cut off by Denmark, who again only laughed.

"But that would make her the queen of all of our nations right? Right. Look, all I'm trying to get across is that we can creat a union between us. Not only will it help the Baltic problem, but it might also impact other things such as trading between our nations! We can all be separate sovereign states but be under Margarets rule! So, yay or nay?"

I had to admit, it sounded promising and was a great idea. Sweden however, didn't seem so sure. He looked to Finland, who shook his head slowly. But Sweden instead gave a slight nod of the head and Denmark slapped a piece of paper in front of us. I looked at it for a second, reading over it countless times and after a little while, I signed it.

And so it was official. We were officially unified in what was called the Kalmar Union. All together, our lands equalled up to 3,000,000 square kilometers, all of which Margaret the 1st of Denmark (and of us) ruled over. However, each of us was let to be our own nation. Only having Margaret as an over all ruler.

Sweden, Finland, and I moved in with Denmark. I had Iceland trailing at my feet the entire time. Finland mostly stayed around Sweden. And...Denmark. He stayed in his office all day, doing paper work and kicking back and relaxing. Hell, he even had his own throne in there. I sometimes stayed in the office with him and watched silently as he signed document after document. I felt sorry for him honestly. But he brought this onto himself.

"Do you need any help?" I asked, leaning on The doorway of the Danes office/ throne room. He smiled at me, shaking his head.

"No thank you," he looked back down at the documents in front of him on the wooden table, "I can handle it."

I sat on a stool in the corner of the room, watching him quietly. The only noise being the scratching sound of quil writing on tough paper made of calfs leather. I found myself dozing off, leaning against the wall until the scratching noises stopped and a new, heavy sound came ringing through the room.

I looked up to see Denmark with his feet up on the table and leaning back in his large comfy looking chair. He said lowly with a chuckle, "It's great to be king."
