CONNIE POV

"Y/n come on don't be like that" I say as I chase after you down the hall

"Don't be like what?" She snaps still angry at the situation "if shit like that always happens to you.." she starts before taking a deep breath "I don't think I wanna be round you"

"Y/n we in the same dorm" I say "so? Connie I feared for my life"

"He wasn't going to do anything" I say, trying to calm her down. "He was just trying to scare you. He's probably on something."

Y/N looked at me, her eyes filled with fear and anger. "You don't know that. He could have hurt me. He could have killed me."

I sighed. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I should have been more careful. I should have listened to you."

She turned away from me, her shoulders shaking. "I don't know if I can trust you anymore."

My heart sank. I knew I had messed up, but I didn't want to lose her. "Please, Y/N, give me another chance. I'll do anything."

She didn't respond. I watched her as she walked away, her back straight and her head held high. I knew I had to do something to make things right.

I stood there for a moment, frozen in place as the echo of her footsteps faded. The hallway felt unbearably cold, the vibrant energy of the campus muted by the weight of my failure. I ran a hand through my scalp, frustration boiling inside me. I hadn't meant for things to escalate like this.

Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to move, my mind racing with thoughts of how to fix this. Y/N was right; I couldn't just let her think I didn't care, I needed to show her I for real do. I didn't want to be the reason she felt unsafe.

As I turned a corner, I spotted Sasha and Lenny leaning against the wall, chatting and laughing. Their carefree demeanor only deepened my guilt. I approached them, urgency in my voice. "Hey, have you seen Y/N?"

Sasha looked up, her expression shifting from amusement to concern. "She just stormed past us. why wassup?"

I explained the situation, the panic rising in my chest as I recounted the encounter. Lenny's brows furrowed as she listened, her typical nonchalance replaced by seriousness.

"your dumbass" Lenny sigh's "you need to go make sure she's okay," she said, glancing toward the exit. "I'll help you look for her."

"Thanks, Lenny," I replied, relief flooding through me. "I just... I don't want her to feel alone in this."

Sasha nodded, her voice steady. "We all care about her. Let's find her together."

We split up, calling her name as we searched through the crowded campus. Each moment that passed felt like an eternity, my heart racing with the fear that I might lose her for good. Just as despair started to creep in, I spotted her sitting on a bench outside the student center, her head down, watching her phone.

I approached cautiously, unsure of how to bridge the distance. "Y/N?" I called softly, taking a step closer.

She looked up, her expression still hardened, but there was a flicker of vulnerability in her eyes. "What do you want, Connie?"

"I just want to talk," I said, desperation creeping into my voice. "Please."

She hesitated, her gaze darting away as if she were weighing her options. Finally, she nodded, and I took a seat next to her, careful to keep a respectful distance.

"I'm really sorry for what happened earlier," I began, my voice steady but laced with sincerity. "I shouldn't have dismissed your feelings. You were scared, and I didn't take that seriously enough."

Y/N remained silent, her focus still on the ground. I could see the tension in her shoulders, the way her hands fisted in her lap.

"I promise, I'll do better. I don't want to be the person who puts you in danger or makes you feel unsafe. You worth too much to for that" I continued, hoping she could hear the honesty in my words.

Finally, she looked at me, and her eyes were raw, filled with a mix of hurt and uncertainty. "It's just going to be hard for me to keep my guard down around you right now," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I get it," I replied, feeling a knot form in my stomach.

"do you though?" she snaps back

"its not the first time i've been in a situation like this, Connie i've been in worse and I know I dont want that for myself, I seen what it others and what it do to me"

"I understand that and I'll work for your trust. Just give me a chance and I bet I prove to you that I can be someone you can you can be safe with."

There was a long pause as she studied me, the silence stretching between us. I held my breath, waiting for her response.

Slowly, she nodded, though her expression was still guarded. "Okay. I'll try to give you another chance. But you have to understand that I need time to get comfortable around you and everything."

"I'll wait," I promised, relief flooding through me. "Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what."

As we sat there, the weight of the situation began to lift. I realized that this was just the beginning of rebuilding our trust, but I was determined to make it work. For Y/N because it was something I could see in her that I never seen in anyone else.
