One second I was listening to music, sitting next to a strange man on the bus, the next I could barely hear my favorite singer over the sounds of their screams in shock and terror, after all that remained of the man next to me was his clothes in a pile on the chair. I couldn't believe my eyes and had no idea what to think. I yanked my earbuds out as I stood.
It wasn't just him. A blonde haired lady in a pink dress with pearl earings across from me was screaming in agony, tears falling down her face as she squeezed the pile clothes her husband and child had been wearing. The childs left over yellow dress was distinctly noticiable. A teddy bear of the child had fallen on the floor. "Baby, where are you?!" Shouted another woman from the front of the bus. "Clarise!" Shouted a strong deep male voice a few feet away from the woman in the pink dress. I looked around and piles of clothes were scattered about on the seats in the bus. People were scared and distraught.
'Who could be this sick to pull a prank like this?' I asked myself... but then... I looked out the window to find the same sight. Piles of clothes and people on the floor in confusion. Piles of clothes were everywhere. Then, I realized... this could be it... 'oh no,' I thought. 'Is this it? No, no, no, this can't be it. Not rightnow! I'm not ready! You can't leave me!' Suddenly, I drifed off so deep into my thoughts that I hadn't noticed them spiraling out of control. The rate of my heart beat increasing as it grew louder and louder by the second followed after. The fear was overwhelming. It just might eat me alive this time.
I looked around for the nearest exit. When the only thing I saw was the clothes and devestated family members, I'd never felt more stuck in my life. It was as if I was being forced to face to it when all I wanted was to run. Being trapped made me feel as is the wrath of God was upon me. But there was no where to run.
Lost in my endless maze of thoughts, I felt my feet move and back up slowly until I felt something metal against my back. The metal bars attached to the seats in the back of the bus. With a strong need to grab onto something, my hands clinged to the pole behind me and gripper tighter and tigher to it. I felt frozen, watching everything happeneing infront of me. I was so scared, I hadn't noticed myself shaking.
"Who's driving!?" Shouted a panicked man frantically. The next thing I new, I felt the bus shake as it came into contact with something extremely hard. Gravity aggressively yanked me forward and I fell hard onto the ground. I felt an intense pain when I hit my head on the metal part of the chair infront of me. My mind went blank and the fear slowly eased away. When my vision went blurry I stopped hearing my heart rate. I didn't have the strength to think of anything, and felt an immense amount of relief as I began to close my eyes, with the scent of smoke from something burning filling my nose, as I drifted off to a sleep that I was too weak to fight.
