Xavier's POV

I closed my eyes and sat back in my chair comfortably. It has been a very busy day and I still have an important meeting to attend and a few more documents to go through. Being the CEO of one of the leading companies of the world is a tiring job.

I sat like that for about five minutes when my phone rang. "Hello" I answered not looking at the caller ID. "Xavier" mom said in a panicked voice. I straightened up, "mom? What's wrong?"
"It's your father, he was not feeling good and I think he had some sort of seizure, we're at the hospital right now. Please come" she said sniffling.

By the time she finished I was closing my office door behind me. "Don't worry mom I'll be there in a few minutes." I called my driver Josh to reach the front doors of the building with the car.

"The hospital" I told Josh when he opened the car door for me.
I looked outside the window. Dad had been absolutely fine in the morning when he came barging into my office, once again to pester me about the whole marriage thing.

I was still lost in thoughts when Josh opened my door again. Getting out, I rushed to the reception. A lady in her mid-twenties was sitting there.

"Mr Vanderbilt" I said once I reached the desk. She looked up from whatever she was doing and a flirty smile made a way on her face when she saw me. "And who might you be?" She asked twirling her hair between her fingers and looking at me up and down not bothering to hide that she wa checking me out.

Is she serious right now? Any other time I may have flirted back but right now nothing's more important than my father. "Listen here miss, do you not like your job? Because I would love to get you fired. Just cut the crap and just tell me the room number." Her expression changed from a flirty one to scared in an instant. She fumbled a bit with the keyboard "Room number 408 sir" she said in a weak voice.

Without another word I made my way to the elevator and reached the corridor of the fourth floor. I spotted my mother who was crying on my sister's shoulder and my brother was pacing back and forth.

"How is he?" I asked to no one in particular. "The doctor is still checking. Bu-But he seemed really bad Xavier" mom said as a sob escaped her. "He's going to be okay mom. He has to be okay" I said but it seemed like I was trying to assure myself rather than her.

When the doctor came out we rushed to him to ask how dad was doing and what was wrong. "We haven't been able to identify the problem yet. We need to run a few more tests and someone needs to sign these forms" he said showing a few papers.

"I'll do it, you go and start the tests" I said. The doctor nodded and gave me the forms. I signed them and he went back inside as we made our way to the chairs again.

After about half an hour the doctor came back "We have done the tests but we can't say anything till the reports come back. It'll take a few hours. Till then only one family member can stay with the patient. Mr Vanderbilt wants his wife to stay so I suggest that the rest of you go back for now and we'll inform you when the test results come" he said.

I was sitting on the sofa at my penthouse when my mom called. "Xavier you need to come to the house quick! Your father...he has gone insane" she said before hanging up. I got up fast and ran out.

Seated in my car I wondered what mom meant. And why was dad at home? Reaching the Vanderbilt mansion, I stopped my car infront of the huge wooden doors.
"Good evening Mr Vanderbilt" the valet said. I threw my keys at him and told him to park the car.

I entered the living room and something felt odd. For instance my dad who was supposed to be at the hospital was sitting on the couch looking as good as ever with a satisfied look on his face and mom had a worried expression.
