changed and ready for school as i usually do in the morning to my despair i head to the kitchen of Alistair's mansion; my home. "Good morning Alexandra" Alistair was sat reading the human morning paper and drinking coffee, Alistair is a Hellian and he is a commander of this army, Hellian's are actually like demons but its not as bad as it sounds, humans just perceive all demons as bad, but not all of them are, its all up to the individual.

"good morning" i say and get some juice out of the massive fridge in this very modern and expensive kitchen. Most Fae don't or cant eat more them a slice of orange, its not in there nature so the kitchen is solely for his coffee addiction and my human nature; in that i require food to sustain life. "i'm going over to a Friends house after school to do English literature work" i say and he looks at me over his paper threw his insanely unnecessary reading glasses, his eye sights twice as good as mine.

"where?" he starts the usual interigation,

"its only Abigale's,  you know where she lives" i say, he did this pretty much every time, just to make sure i don't go near the boarder.

I have only been over the boarder a few times, in a rebellious stage, none of the Fae over there knew who i was so i could get away with it but it was still rather scary. In recent years the war had been uneventful so i didn't think i would be in harms way. That was until Azazel deserted. a few years ago Alistair's right hand man was a demon called Azazel, he disliked me more then he did the opposition Fae and one day he got into an argument with Alistair over sending me to school, he said it was compromising the secret because humans cant keep the mouths shut. Then when Alistair wouldn't back down he joined the other side.

"okay well be-" i cut him of instinctivly, "i know be careful, dont go near the boarder, dont talk to strangers, keep the secret and eat my five a day, anything i'm missing?" i say, he gives me a sacastic dad look. for saying he had no kids of his own, he was pretty good at it. "see you later" i say and grab my book bag before heading out. the masion is under constent guard by all types of creature, acheri and deveas mostly.

Acheri's creep even me out, in the natural form there nothing more then a shadowy mist, lots of the corners in the mansion aren't just dark. When in a human form they tend to take on the form of a child, a very creepy child with sharp teeth and long nails. Deveas look like normal people most of the time but when they need to they can change into a shadow or disappear completely.

This was the world i've gotten used to though, they don't scare me. in the event that whilst i'm at school there is an attack, well since Azazel left anyway a few of the teachers at school have been possessed by demons, to be on the safe side, it doesn't hurt them, and when the demon leaves they don't even remember it. And for my last birthday Alistair got me a very pretty small ornate iron dagger that i tuck into my boots just in case, he also gave me a really pretty bracelet that year, i never take it off.

Okay so, so far you've probably noticed i've only mentioned 'demon' like creatures, that's because they make up most of the personal guard. there is a witches coven close by and a legion of wendigo in the woods surrounding out side of the city, all of these creature also blend in as humans during the day, then there is the more noticeable creatures like the shape shifters, any human wouldn't notice them but anyone who is trained to read the sighns like Alistair, can. Shape shifters are a bit of a grey area, they generally don't side with anyone and only come into the city to cause trouble.

One in year 8 the head teacher call for an emergancy assembily in which he mummbled on about how the school isnt up to scratch and there needed to be more kaos, drugs and sex, this was a shapeshifter. the real mr Collins turned up dead three days later. no one really knows why they do what they do, or what they have to gain, but they ocasionally agree to frightn with Alistair's side.

Alistair is the highest commander in the army the only person that is higher then him is 'the master' though i've never actually met, and don't think i ever will. he's like there god and leader Alistair rarely gets a face to face with him and he's rarely about so no one actually knows what or who he is. The same goes for the other side, i have no idea who there leader is either.

When the school day ended and we were finally dismissed me and Abigale head to her house, "wait a minute don't we turn up there?" i asked as we passed her usually street, "i moved remember? i swear i told you"  she said, i didn't remember her telling me anything but there was that day last week when i was so tiered i dazed in and out most of the day because Alistair had a meeting at home and asked me to wait up till its finished; he doesn't trust some of the other generals and lower commanders, not since Azazel.  "its not far, just across the main road near Burton street and a few streets away." she explains. "you know i'm not allowed across that road" i say, i didn't like the way this was going, how was i meant to explain this to her?

She stopped and turned to me "come on its not like we havnt been over there before, since when did you care anyway?" she asked, i thought several answers threw in my head, 'since a very powerfull demon who hates my guts crossed over to an army built up of supernatural beings stationed on that side', or 'since my dad is really strict' each was as bad as the other, one would give away the secret the other would make me seem like a wuss, so i settled for "sure you're right, he'll never find out anyway" i said, i was being so stupid, i shouldnt have been doing it. I would just have to keep my head down and hopefully because i was with a normal oblivious human they would think it was me; i mean whats the liklyness i was going to run into Azazel anyway.
