CHAPTER ONE: pilot

BROOK LOCKWOOD HAD KNOWN ABOUT HER OLDER BROTHER'S RIVALRY WITH JEREMY GILBERT. It annoyed her to no end. Brook ran out of her room, stumbling as she was already late. Her hair was still wet from her shower.

She ran around the house, grabbing her jacket and pulling it on as she rubbed at her hair with a towel. She repeatedly knocked on her brother's door.

"What the hell?" Tyler yelled. "I'm trying to sleep, Brook!"

The brunette haired-girl cracked four eggs into a pan, mixing it as she ripped apart a few pieces of ham. She then moved to the fridge, taking out a small yogurt and then taking out the orange house.

Brook walked back to her brother's room. Brook knocked on Tyler's door again, who came out with a tired look. "What do you want?"

Tyler had opened the door, still tired, glaring. But, once seeing his sister's smile, he smiled back. Although, his smile was nowhere near as cheerful as hers. It was the same smile he swore he would kill a person if they had been the reason the smile went away.

"I made you breakfast," Brook smiled.

Tyler hummed, leaning against his door. "So, what do you want?"

Brook looked up at him, offended. "You are insulting. I made you breakfast, and you are being disrespectful. What if I just wanted to do a nice thing for you? Never again."

Tyler laughed. "The only time you make me anything to eat is when you want something."

Brook smiled again. "After school, can you take me to the bookstore? They have a series that I've been looking forward to reading."

Tyler smiled, nodding and agreeing to take her. Then Richard Lockwood walked by, immediately making the siblings silent.  The second he was halfway done the stairs, Brook leaned to Tyler. "I don't like him."

Tyler snorted. "Who does?"

Brook had walked away from Tyler and his friends aged, saying hello to Matt and bye to Tyler and Matt. As she walked the halls, heading to her classroom, she walked by Jeremy Gilbert. The boy had lost his parents recently. However, she had never spoken to him before giving him her condolences.

Jeremy Gilbert was walking towards the boy's bathroom. Because of the side she was walking on, and she had to move to the side, so she didn't bump into him. Or get in his way.
