Chapter 3

Marrying for the nation was common for princess. Well she was just marrying Tyler for the same reason. But marrying Alexander was entirely different. She dreamed of marrying him and having their little family two year ago but that all has changed. Now he was marrying her to stop the chaos not for her.

"Alisha, you don't have to marry him sweetheart. We can think of something else," said Martha seeing her step daughter's distress.

"We have no other option Martha," Thranox said holding his wife's hand.

Martha glared at him and shoved his hand away.

"We will do anything if our daughter is not happy, do you understand Thran," Martha said holding both hands of Alisha.

"Yes Martha. We will do anything but now the situation is not in our hand. If we let Alisha marry Tyler then we will make easy path for Thrankot to concur us. If we do not let prince Alexander help us by marrying Alisha, then our people will be restless. What should we do," Thranox said rubbing his forehead.

Alisha was just sitting there listening to her parents talking about the situation. Prince Alexander left the room right after dropping the marriage bomb. She stood up and said,

"Dad I want to talk to prince Alexander first."

Thranox and Martha stopped their argument listening to their daughter's soft voice.

"Sure dear. Go and talk to him and then decide what you want," Thranox said.

Alisha smiled tightly and left the room in search for Alexander. She knew where he would be.

Right there he was standing in her garden smelling the red rose. He sensed her presence. She could see that as his shoulder muscles were tense suddenly. He turned around to see her and started talking still holding the rose in his hands.

"just to be clear, this marriage is just to assure that people of your country do not cause any uproar."

"I am aware of that," Alisha said looking at the rose in his hands not meeting his eyes as he was also doing the same.

He plugged the rose and walked towards her and stood in front of her looking at her eyes which she met finally. He lifted her left hand and slowly removed her engagement ring. Her heart rate increased with his closeness.

"Good for you then," he said and walked out of the garden. Just like that. As if he has not turned her life upside down.

She slumped down the ground, as tears started rolling down her eyes from the unexpected situation and seeing him after long time. Her heart hurt so bad, she has to rub her chest to reduce the pain. Two pair of hand held her.

"We are here for you Alisha," Katherine said having her own tears seeing her friends' pain.

"If you say now, we can help you to run away. It is not too late," Jessica said rubbing her back.

Alisha knew she still had her family and her friends who were holding her tightly will always be with her. She can never escape her responsibility for her people. She stood up and wiped her tears. She was ready to face the challenges in her life, however painful they were because she knew her life with Alexander will not be of love as his heart near belonged to her. It always belonged to that women.

Time was moving so fast for Alisha. Two hours felt like two minutes for her. One minute she was telling her father her decision on marriage and another minute she was at the church. The venue was decorated beautifully. She focused on all the flowers as she walked to distract from her thought process.

She walked the aisle holding her fathers' hand not meeting the man's eyes who was waiting for her at the end. Her father whispered something to Alexander on reaching the end but she did not care to listen. She kept her eyes down when her father handed her hand to him but Alexander tugged her hand to look up. Her heart rate increased with his touch again. She slowly raised her head to meet his eyes. Small smile graced her lips looking at the same rose from her garden styled on his breast pocket. She slowly met his eyes. Alexander gulped looking at her and cleared his throat moving her to face the priest.
