AB's POV

I reached my usual secret place to have a meeting with my team in regards to the recent trafficking and murder cases that I had been handling recently. The case was getting so trickier with each passing
day. Just when I thought that I was nearing the end, I still would end up at the starting point itself. I have been spending all my sleepless nights cracking this case. Finally, I got some clues. Though they were not enough to solve the case, they all would be somewhat helpful in the progress of the case.

So I  had a special team who has been handling this case all by myself with utmost secrecy and I was confident that I could not drag the mouse
which was slithering slowly, out of its defensive burrow.
My ears perked up when I heard the series of footsteps and the vigilance in my eyes faded away when I noticed who it was I immediately got on to my foot and saluted him. There stood my idol retired commissioner Mr Devaanand....
He gave me a warm smile and gestured me to take my seat while holding the harness of Choco collar.
When Choco  sensed my presence, he escaped from the Sir's clutches and attempted to pounce on me.
Holding the upper part of his burly built within my arms, I petted his head with a smile as he started wagging its tail while sticking his tongue out.
Choco was a  husky dog. When I was on my first
mission, I chanced upon saving him. He was my only
companion on my first mission but after coming back, I gifted him to the man in front of me as Sir was a lonely man with no family.
Since I didn't have much time to take care of him and I
couldn't leave him with my parents as my mom wasn't fond of dogs. So I was glad to gift him to Sir as I always witness how he cared for Choco just like his own son.
"Choco, get off him!" Sir commanded him as Choco backed away, not before whimpering at him but still stayed near my foot while licking its paw.
"How are you, Abhi ? Any improvements in the case?" He asked me after Choco's fiasco while fanning his face with his hand.

"I am good, sir. As far as the progress of the case is concerned, I indeed found out something. Though it wasn't a major finding, it helped me in shifting the target. See this, Sir." I showed him the file I had brought with me and reading the contents, his expression turned somewhat thoughtful.
"So you mean to say, he isn't the one whom we should go after! Is it? Why so?"
"Most probably, sir. Because if he is the big boss, why haven't we ever heard of his name till now?? Why does he pop out of nowhere right after we re-open the case? Unless he is acting like a big boss just to divert our attention from the main felon." He nodded at me while rattling the table with his fingertips as I continued.
" If my guess is correct, something major is going to happen soon. So this is another reason why we shouldn't go after him and start searching for the right person. I believe my instincts,Sir. So we better be vigilant about all the happenings in the
city. I might need some time but I am sure I will catch the main person who is hiding in the shadows."
He sighed at my information and stood up before walking up to my side and patted my back proudly"

I believe in your abilities, abhi. That's the exact reason why I thought you were capable of handling it. So don't worry about the delay. I will talk to my resources and some of my old friends who are currently higher officials and will stall some time for you.
Also, I will discuss with them about handing youre team the whole power regarding this case."
I nodded at him with a slight smile in a grateful manner for being a supportive superior as always.
"I will take my leave now. I know work is important but don't stress yourself too much. Go and get a life.
He said, giving me a final pat, and bent down to hold
Chocos leash, who was lazing on the ground while
spreading his four limbs. I just waved off his words with a smile as he helplessly shook his head
"You lazy boy, stand up. Our business here is done." He said and nodded at me.
Choco immediately got on to his feet and started licking my polished shoe as his way of saying his goodbye. I smiled at his gesture and caressed his fur with my palm before standing up to wave them goodbye.
