"You mock me, Scythe..."

The flames on the candles flickered, but refused to blow out as a suffocating wind circled the dim chamber. A hooded figure stood in the center of the chamber, the floor's elliptical design spanning out around him. He did not reply. The wind sighed and roared past the figure in impatience. He didn't waver. The wind hissed.

"Ssssss, I had forgotten you cannot speak."

Scythe moved his head and looked up towards the chandelier of flickering candles. The tapping of light footsteps in the distance reached his ears, and he turned abruptly to see who, or rather what, was approaching. A girl with beautiful blonde hair stepped out of the shadows, her pale, white eyes glinting in the gloom. The wind slowed and began to rotate around her.

"I have brought you a spy, do what you wish with it."

The girl's eyes narrowed in indignation.

"I am not an 'it,' demon."

She spoke calmly, struggling to control her anger. Scythe stepped away from the center and advanced towards her, the girl flinching ever so slightly. Maintaining her composed posture, she looked up at stared him in the eye. You belong to me. She froze, paralysed to the spot the raspy voice engraved itself into her mind. Leave, until you are needed. Managing a strained nod, the girl staggered backwards and fled back the way she had come. The wind whirled towards the hooded man.

"I can sense your old name lingering in your thoughts."

Scythe didn't move.

"Remember this, Scythe, you are no longer Erkis Fallo."
