The Tomb

"Stefan!" Elena said rushing in. The flames on the torches were still lit from the spell earlier, but the only thing she's worried about was her boyfriend being locked in the tomb with her crazy doppelganger.

"Stefan!"

Before Elena could step into the cave going to look for her boyfriend Damon came speeding in ripping her from the opening and pushing her against the wall making her gasp in surprise and pain. 

"Don't you dare," he said in a low voice. At this point he was getting tired of always having to stop her from doing crazy and reckless things all the time.

"Stefan's in there, Damon! How could you let this happen?" Elena accused. Damon looked at the brunette he's started gaining feelings towards in disbelief. 

"What are you talking about? I was too busy saving you from your crazy Kamikaze mission," Damon explained.

"You didn't even have to go after the moonstone in the first place," Elena fought back. The duo totally oblivious to the two vampires listening in to their conversation. 

"It was the right call!" 

"The right call? How is any of this the right call?" Elena yelled. She started pushing on him struggling to free herself. "Damon, let go of me. Damon, let go of me! Let go of me!" 

"Let go of me. Please" Elena gasped tears forming in her eyes. Damon just looked down at her with an emotionless face. 

"Are you done?" he asked. 

Damon finally let go of the girl when she didn't fight back anymore, both were breathing heavily from trying to fight one another. Elena started to walk forwards only to be stopped by Damon's finger in her face. 

"Don't." 

Elena just looked at the finger and started to storm out of the cave but before she made it out of the entrance she stopped and turn towards the tomb, she raised her voice hoping the the evil doppelganger that's ruining her life could hear her. 

"I hope your happy Katherine, you have my boyfriend and your crazy red headed best friend is threatening and stalking me, was this your plan all along?" Elena asked rhetorically. The brunette quickly ran out of the cave wanting to be as far away from all three of them as possible. 

What she didn't realize was she was leaving behind a very happy Katherine, and very confused Salvatore brother's. The only red headed best friend of Katherine's they know was dead, at least that's what they were lead to believe. She is dead, right? 

"Out of all the idiot plans, Stefan?" Damon asked seeing his brother come towards the entrance. Stefan looked at the door that confides him with the one person he hates most in the world. 

"Yeah," Stefan sighed. 

"I'll find a way to get you out," Damon promised. He wasn't just going to leave his baby brother in a tomb with the girl who manipulated both of them even when they all knew her best friend was in love with his brother. 

"No, that's all right, I'll-- I'll handle myself," Stefan disagreed. "Bonnie has the moon stone, work with her, try to figure out how to de-spell it." 

"You martyr yourself into a tomb with your ex's psycho best friend and I get partnered with a semi-competent witch," Damon complained making Stefan laugh. "Wonderful."

"Keep Elena away from here," Stefan told him. He doesn't want her anywhere near Katherine, he doesn't need any more secrets revealed. 

"yeah, 'cause that'll be easy," came Damon's sarcastic reply. Every time he hears one of Damon's sarcastic quips all he can think about is a certain someone who would always entertain the comments because she thought they were funny. 

"Promise me," he requested. "No matter what happens, you'll protect her."

"Promise," Damon agreed making Stefan nod. Damon turned to walk about but quickly stopped himself and looked over his shoulder, the words from Elena have been running through his mind since she left. 

"You don't think the red head Elena was talking about is, you know who, right?" Damon asked. He fears he knows the answer but he prays he's wrong. 

"I don't know," Stefan answered. The truth was Stefan wasn't sure if she's still alive, they didn't find her in the tomb but Katherine told them she really was gone, but then again it's Katherine, the things coming out of her mouth are mostly lies. 

Damon walked out of the tomb head spinning as Stefan watched. Once Damon was completely out of sight Stefan made his way back too the one person he really doesn't want to be around. As Stefan walked in the first thing he spotted was Katherine's triumphant smirk making Stefan slightly worried. 

"Oh you have no idea what your in for," Katherine laughed. She knew her best friend would come for her sooner or later she also knew that the older woman had a knack for the dramatics just like herself which made this all the more entertaining.
