At some point after her confession the two of you had drifted back off to sleep as you held her, causing her to miss her morning training session that you knew she usually goes on. You weren't complaining though. You're more than happy to have your girlfriend not only sleep next to you, but wake there as well. You let your gaze drift to where she lays.

Wisps of her flaming locks frame her face as she's bathed in the gentle sunlight that sneaks through the blinds. She looks more at peace than you've ever seen her and you can't help but be happy about that and secretly hope that maybe it had something to do with you.

Without warning she shuffles closer to you, wrapping her arm around you as her head rests on your shoulder. You can't help the happy chuckle that escapes you which causes her to stir slightly.

A smile spreads on your face, "Mornin' Tasha"

"Good morning detka(baby)" she rasps out, her warm breath tickling your neck

You place a gentle kiss on her forehead causing a hum to leave her as she snuggles closer. She brings a gentle hand to your collarbone, her fingers ghost across your it and the bruise there. You can see sadness in her eyes as she watches her fingers move across your skin. You know you need to say something when a tear rolls down her cheek.

"Baby, I'm ok."

"Promise?" she softly asks

You nod, "I promise"

"And we're ok?"

"Of course we are Tasha." you tell her with a reassuring squeeze. She relaxes once more and snuggles into your hold again. "After we cuddle for a bit, why don't we go down for breakfast? I bet Wandas made something delicious."

She nods, "I'd like that"

About an hour later the two of you finally decide to get out of bed, get dressed and head to the kitchen. You don't think you've ever seen her so happy and radiant before. She even holds your hand the entire way to the kitchen, only letting go to allow you to make coffee for the two of you.

You smile as you see Wanda walk in from the dining room, "Good morning Y/n, Nat. I have waffles ready on the table if you'd like some."

"We'd love that Wan, thank you." Nat tells her, grabbing her coffee in one hand and yours with the other

As you enter the room you find Tony, Steve, Bruce and Carol sitting at the table enjoying Wandas waffles. A few of them look up to greet you but instead of smiles you find shocked faces instead. Before you can ask what the problem is, Steve speaks up

"Romanoff, did you do this?"

Your shoulders tense as she shrinks in on herself, "It's not what you think"

"Oh, so you didn't hurt your girlfriend and leave a giant bruise on her neck?" Steve sarcastically asks

"What the hell Natasha?!" Tony asks, "I know you have issues but I never thought you'd hurt her!"

"Both of you shut up!!" you yell as you can see sadness etch across her face and tears build in her eyes. You can tell she's second guessing herself and everything you've told her, "Neither of you know a damn thing about her or what happened, it was an accident."

"Don't defend her" Steve says, "She hurt you Y/n. There's no excuse for that."

Your fists clench, "I said shut up Steve! You weren't there and you have no clue what happened! She would never hurt me- "

"But she did!" Tony buts in

You glare at him, "Because she was dealing with her repressed trauma and she wasn't herself. Don't you realize she feels bad enough without the two of you accusing her of abusing me?!"

"She's right." Carol finally sparks up, "We all have no idea what Natashas been through, but one thing I know for sure is how much she loves Y/n. She would never harm her on purpose and the two of you are being assholes."

Bruce nods, "Anger and fear are hard emotions to control, add trauma to the mix and things like this can happen when someone is startled or they feel cornered, especially during nightmares or flashbacks."

You angrily glance at the two men as Natasha shyly takes your hand. You know it means she's uncomfortable and wants to leave but you aren't done with the two men, "I realize that as the leaders of this team the two of you feel like it's your job to stick up for and protect everyone. But you shouldn't ever just jump to conclusions and attack someone like that. And if I ever hear either of you say anything about Natasha again, I'll break your jaws."

"I think she meant that." Bruce tells them as you lead the redhead back to your bedroom

Carol scoffs, "I know she did"

You gently wipe away her tears as she takes a seat on the edge of your bed, she sniffles before looking up at you, "I really didn't mean to Y/n. I'm not like that, I'm not like him."

"Shh, I know baby." you calm her as you rest your forehead against hers, "You are absolutely nothing like him. You have such a big and kind heart, and you were forced to endure and do so much."

She relaxes and gently tugs at the front of your shirt, signaling her need to have you close. You quickly scoop her up in your arms and rest yourself against the headboard, rubbing her back to help soothe her.

"Don't let them bother you baby, I know you and what you've been through." you tell her

"You aren't afraid I'll hurt you again?" she hesitantly asks

"Tasha, I could never be afraid of you." you admit, "You were triggered, and I'll do everything I can to be sure that doesn't happen the next time I go to comfort you from a nightmare. You're not alone, and I'm not going anywhere ok?"

"Thank you. I appreciate you so much, detka(baby)."

A gentle knock sound on the door and Wanda pops in holding a tray, "Hey guys, Carol texted me and told me how the guys were assholes so I thought I'd bring you the waffles you didn't get to eat. I cut up some fruit for you both too."

"Thanks Wanda, you're the best." you tell her as you grab the tray from her

She looks over at your girlfriend, "Don't let them get to you Nat. They're just grouchy bitter men who'd rather punch things and drink than understand how emotions work and how trauma affects people."

"Thanks Wan"

"Of course." Wanda smiles, "Hey, I'd have to go into town to get the ingredients but how about I make you guys some Pelmeni and Stroganoff for dinner?" she offers, knowing it's one of Natashas favorites

"That sounds great Wan" you tell her

"It does sound good, but you don't have to" Nat tells her, never really knowing what to say when someone legitimately wants to do something for her

"But I want to. So I'll head to the store. Anything else you guys need?"

"Caviar please." you ask, knowing it's another of her comfort foods

Wanda nods, "You got it"

After the brunette leaves you can't help but notice the way her eyes watch you as you both eat. "What is it baby?"

She shakes her head, "Nothing. I'm just really lucky to have such an amazing and understanding girlfriend"

"I think I'm the lucky one here." you admit, caressing her cheek

She hums, leaning in to give you a kiss, which tastes like the sweet syrup and strawberries from the waffles, "I love you Y/n"

"I love you too Tasha. Now finish your waffles so I can kiss you again"

She laughs, "Oh detka(baby), I don't need to finish eating for that"
